is it possible to have a false positive HPT

This morning 8dpt, i took a hpt and it was positive, my BW is on monday the 6th of july. Is it possible to get a false positive HPT, before i get too excited?

im in the same boat as you, i had my transfer 11 days ago and my period was due 3 days ago and no signs of it. They told me im not to test till wed the 8th july, but i couldnt help my self and did a test yday and it was positive. So i dod another one this morning and again positive , so another one tonight and yep positive, so i dont know like you what to make of it. I had a frozen cycle and i had no drugs at all, it was all natural, so thats what makes me think i may be, since nothing else can influence it... i dont know, i dont want to get excited in case it is wrong.. I still feel like my period is going to come, i have dull back ache just like days before my period, but mind you i have that since last sat, and nothing is coming.

We are in the same boat, i have been having the same signs as you. exactly, but i went through the entire IVF process, it was my 1st attempt. BW on monday, HPT shows a positive.

I am going for my beta test today, i am so nervous....i took a HPT this morning, still positive. i will sneak out around lunch time to go have my blood tests done....

can't wait to hear the result. I just had my transfer today and I will test from day 8 if not a little bit before just to get a negative result to make sure hormones are all out of the system.

I have my blood test on wednesday 8th i have been doing a hpt since Thursday and all have been positive. Contacted my fertility nurse and she said it will have to be confirmed but gave me a quiet congratulations. Now if there was a chance that i could NOT be pregnant then this would be very naughty of that nurse to make me excited. I believe that if you get a positive via hpt days before your blood work then its looking pretty good girls. Also i have been weeing constantly and thats a sign of being pregnant.

I will go crazy if my blood work comes back a negative after the positive feedback from my fertility nurse i think we will be falling out, but hopefully she is right.

Hi, I recently had a failed IVF cycle and my nurse told me that you can have false negative but never a false positive, so Congratulations ladies!!!!!

I am the same as you there. I have to go on the 8th too, and i have been doing tests at home since thrs and all positive, and i am a week late with my period today. So i dont know.. I have waited so long for this and now i feel so guilty cos im not excited, like i am too affraid to be yet, and i see that test and i know its positive, but i dont believe it and  dont want to get excited only to find out something went wrong. So till i get a blood test i just cant think that way.I have rang all the pharmacies and that to check if all 5 tests can be wrong, different brands too, and they all told me NO! If its a positive its a positive and they have never heard of a positive that was false.God this wait is killing me.

Hello ladies!  I also test on Wednesday, I am 7dpt... All ur bfp's so early r making me want to just test!!! I haven't tested yet, waaaay to scared!!!  Congrats to all of u!

Hello Ladies, i got my blood tests results yesterday and they came back positive, I am PREGNANT, hooray!!! the doc says my level is 1118 and i should actually go back on Wednesday to do another beta test so that we can see that it is increasing well. The's Meds that i have to continue taking, i soon as i get the script...i'm off to the pharmarcy to get them......So ladies hang in there, the nurse also mentioned that if you get a positive HPT, then it is indeed positive......GOOD LUCK, lots of Baby Dust  to you ladies.

Hi my fertility nurse phoned me to day to check im still feeling good ( she been phoning everyday cos i had slight ohss) and i told her i have been doing hpt every day they are all positive. The nurse booked me in for first scan she siad if you been positive all thoses days then its positive.This is really good news but still waiting on blood test tomorrow until i believe it. Even tho i have been told and i can see all the positive home hpt i feel i still need the confermation from the blood test. My next fear is going back to work on Monday dont want to over do it i no i cant just sit at home for the next 8 months but i dont want to m/c either.

You have to be pregnant as you been testing from thur like me all positive, both late on period. So if my fertility nurse siad congratulations and booked me in for my firt scan then this must mean the same for you :)

Im not going to sleep well tonight just waiting for tomorrow good look Ella and then you can start to feel excited for real.

I have been for the blood test and now waiting for them to call me with the results, im so nervous its not funny, and i am really hoping it will be good news. I finally did the pregnancy test they have provided me with this morning and that was positive too. Im worried about the blood test tho, what if that doesnt come up ok.... yeah like you said we havent got out period and the tests have been positive for 6 days in the row now, surely they all cant be wrong, how could that be. Mind you, i have no pregnancy symptoms... have you?
Did you go to your doc yet for the blood test, make sure you let me know how you went

I had my blood done this morning and they phoned me at dinner and i am PREGNANT the relief is unreal.

I didnt think i had any preg symptoms but i have been weeing alot and apparantly that is a sign. I have got no cramping boobs are not sore not overly tierd feel normal. Did feel a little sick this morning but that could of been nerves regarding the blood results. I have my fingers crossed for your result but im really hopefull its positive aswell.

Not very likely, i got a pos and then went to the dr and got a neg, he said because those test are really 99% accurate he believed i had a chemical preg which is a early mc, so early that if i didnt take a early test, i would not have known the diff because my period would come, but it is really a mc. Read up on it. So i do not advise anyone taking a test so early like i did and get your hopes up. I went around for 2 weeks telling everyone i was preg, i was so upset. I would get the test that you do not have to read the line, i would get the ones that say preg or not preg. Being on the pill before hand has a lot to do with why women have chemical pregnancies.

That's odd.  I've 'never' been on the pill & I had a cp 10/08.  I've never heard of that.  Mine was due to my type of blood:  A-Neg rejecting my DH's blood-type.  Now, I have a vaccine/booster-shot that was made of his blood-type that I've had injected into my forearms 2x's in each twice already.  I'm due for another one soon, again.

yeah not all chemical pregnancies but a lot of them are, or maybe i should say a lot of the women on bc prior who have them are due to the pill, but im sure you can have it for other reasons.

yah i been too and got my results too, pregnant they say.... :-) My beta was 373. What was yours? i am all excited but worries about mc now, cant help it. Hope all is ok, and my ultrasound is on the 24th of july, all this wait again!!!!! i will go crazy before then.
glad to hear you are all good too, Congrats to u! I have no symptoms either. knowing my luck it will kick in next week, if all is ok

Shelley & Ella, congradulations to you ladies. I went for my second beta tests on Wednesday and the results were good, my level has increased to 2500, double of the first test. i will go for my first scan on the 3rd week from now, just to make sure that when i go the will be something to see....but i get so scared as sometimes i feel a bit of cramping and also feel as if my period is coming, What post IVF meds has your doctors prescribed for you?
