is there a different rule performing DAY 21 test while on clomid.

Next month will be my first round for Clomid and would like to get DAY 21 test accurately.

I was planning to get the test done once I confirm the O ,then I should get test it AFTER 7 days...because when you are not on med. ,this is how DAY 21 test works...u O first the after 7 days u sohuld test it for progest.

is there a different rule  for this test while on Clomid?

Not that I'm aware.  last month I did the CCCT & was tested 7DPO, just like on a natural cycle or on an injectable one.

Yeah, you're right...ideally it should be done 7 days after ovulation (which in a 28-day cycle, with ovulation on day 14, would be on day 21). If you know when you ovulate, it's always better to have the test done 7 days after that than to do it on day 21.
