is there any hope?

just got back from the re for recheck of follies. had 1st scan on Jan 31st (cd12) 16 total follies. Left ranged from 2.9-6.7 and right 2.9-4.9 (very small i know). today (cd20) left was 7.9-10.10 and right 8.9-12.4. was on clomid 200mg from cd4-8 and didnt respond very well, the nurse said that sometimes people dont respond very well to pill so they need to go to injectables which your body respnds to better. he then put me on 150iu of follistim from cd12-18. now today he wants me to do 100iu today and tomorrow and come back on friday for another scan. just hope they grow to where they need to be so i can get the trigger shot and then TI. i need some encouragement please, just worried that even with 16 follies that i wont get to be where i need to be at. any comments or anything i would appreciate it. thank you...

I just did a cycle with follistim. i had 3 good ones. injectables work a lot better.  U can grow 1-4 mm in 2 days. trust me i had one go from a 12.5 to a 15.4 in one  night. one went from a 15.5 to 17. and the other one really didnt grow much at all 15 to 15.6. Best wishes. i did iui two days ago. make sure u have sex to day u do your trigger shot.  maybe a few hours before. then 36 hours after trigger and then another 24 hours after that.  U may can even do it closer then that.  I would talk to your re about it. that is how my re has me do it.

ty soo much and same to you. yeah re told me to do TI on the night i get my shot and the following night, more if i can. i do have faith that i will get atleast a couple good follies from this. i know it can happen on 1st cycle, seen it on here and hope it does work. how many cycles have you been on if you dont mind me asking? my re said that it was good to have 16 follies even though they started out on the small side. my left was better in the beginning then went to the right, who knows, it can change overnight and our bodies do strange things, lol. another thing my dh has very good sperm count of 646million 84% mobility, my re said i do have better chances since its soo high and as long as i can have good mature egg/eggs

This was my 5th iui. I got preo 2 of them and think it will work this time. I have never had a cycle like yours but then again i use injectables  so i usually ovulate / trigger by night 12 of my cycle  i did my iui on monday and did trigger shot at 330am sunday morning cd11.  so  U have a really really good sperm count.  My dh gets his washed for the iui and they said his was 160mil  with 100% modality and they told him he was then man and could get many women pregnant.  so hopefully it will work for u. the injectables are not too bad. u can gain weight on them. most women do. I know i have.  I am two days past my iui.

with a sperm count that high i would have sex every 24 hours for 4 - 5days.  sperm can live up to 5 days so u would start 3 days before u trigger, skip a night, do it trigger night ( bd- baby dance), bd 24-36 hours after trigger and then the night after that in case u ovulate late.

yeah i do agree with you on the bd and possibly ovulating later. my cycle is longer because of the clomid and re didnt want to just waste this cycle so thats why they put me on follistim. i just get really tired from it, no other side effects, not like the clomid. was on very high dosage and felt terrible. glad thats over with. if it dont work this cycle then it will be early in the next one instead of starting it cd12. sorry i didnt look at your profile, do you have a kids? yes i have adopted 2 wonderful boys.

I have 3 babies in heaven. one was a natural pregnancy 2 were iui's.

I am not really counting my other 2 mc because i just got a + pregnancy test but no blood work( bw)  or ultra sound( us ) to back them up before af come. re called them chemical pregnancies.

I cant wait to hear how good u do.  i will be here for u through the tww( two week wait)

ty and i will be here for you also. soo sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that, you sound like you are a strong person. that is great that you have 2 boys through adoption. if you dont mind me asking, do you know what follicle size you were at when you got pg? hope i'm not asking to much and being to personnal. i'm just soo worried that they wont get to the size they need to be. i do know that they still continue to grow after trigger shot, which shot of course helps with that and to mature and release the egg. i also hope that i ovulate, have heard of people not ovulating after they get trigger, hopefully i'm not one that doesnt.

ask as many questions as u would like too. i have been in your shoes and was greatful to people for helping me out.

my main re triggers once one of mine reaches 15.   he likes them to be 18mm and says due to them continuing to grow they will usually reach that.  it has workd 2 out of 4 times. One of the times it didnt work i was on meds because i got really really sick 2 days before the procedure.

this 5th time my re was out due to being bit by a dog so i saw the other office re. sh e was good and more aggressive the way i hoped my main re would be.  I had 3 grow. my next to last us i had one at 16 and 12.5 on ro and one at 15 on my lo( left ovary). she wanted to see me back the next day and continue with 125 of the follistim. the next day i had 17 15.6 and 15.4 my e2( estrogen level) was 240 something i think... it is in my journals. feel free to read them.  she let me do same amount of meds that night(friday) and then wanted me to have sex the next day( saturday)  I had to trigger at 330 am on sunday morning because she had surgeries monday morning and they like to do iui 36 hours after u trigger.  we then bd lastnight( tuesday)

ty for sharing. yeah i know what you mean about gaining weight. in 8 days i gained 7 pounds, jeez. re told me due to shots. that *****, man i'm not even pg yet, lol. i hope i don't have to go through alot of cycles for this to possibly happen. my history of periods are not good. since going to the re i've had 2 cycles, but before that was 5-6yrs, i lost track. i just hope that everything works out for us. i like being able to talk to people like you that are going through or experiencing the same things, or kinda. really like this website. just glad that somebody responded to my post, ty for that.

hi. well went back to re for another scan on friday and my follies grew like crazy, in 2 days that i had to take more injectables made a difference and couldn't believe it. have 3 good ones 2 at 18 and 1 at 19. have like 4 more that could possibly make it. anyways my doctor told me hes only giving me half of the trigger shot or possibility there might be more than 5 easily. wow. said he didnt want to take any chances. so got my trigger and bd on friday and saturday. started progesterone supp and progesterone at 200mg each and also estradiol 2mg. have to go back on feb 20 for them to check my levels and then on feb 27 find out if it worked and i'm pg. soo hoping for this to happen, know this is my 1st cycle but good things do happen. you're half way through your 2ww. i'm keeping busy so i dont think about it, lol. yesterday i had such terrible cramps, like it felt that my uterus was on the floor dragging behind me, lol. i couldn't hardly go to the bathroom or walk, better today though. nipples have been very sore been like that for over a week now. how are you feeling? hope good. praying we both get BFP and if soo the little bean will be a sticky one.

yeah for good follicles!!! i am so happy. so i take ti u dont give u self the shots. i have never heard of halving it. just bd a lot just in case those smaller ones go later!!!

Well i can tell u friday i was moody Every little thing was driving me crazy!!! but little to really no cramps. then Saturday i had a lot of cramps that were sharp. mainly later in the day but some through out the day.  my boobs only hurt if u touch them. Sunday i was the same way with cramping and some today  but not as much so far.   it is not all over pain it is usually in one spot so u can touch it. but it is sharp and strong!!

as far as the tww i went to see my mother this weekend so that helped me not to want to test. i have also not bought any test.

i might buy it on Wednesday or Friday. I will not test until Saturday at the earliest but i am going to try to hold out for Monday.

yeah i will keep you updated. do you feel pressure down in your uterus area at all. it kinda feels when you're gonna ovulate and it feels like its dragging on the floor, lol. what does your cramps feel like? wonder if its kinda the same as me. the only shots i had was fsh and trigger. started progesterone and estrodiol yesterday. re told me if my #'s look good then they will tell me to stop med. i was at the store yesterday and was gonna buy some tests but decided not to. way too early for me. what day do they tell you can start testing? i know the trigger can stay in your system up to 14 days. they told me i can test but nothing is better then the blood test to confirm it. yeah i've been staying busy also, well trying to, lol. told my dh that this would be the best bday gift ever if it worked. my bday is mar 8th. that would be great

lol  i love your description. mine feels like i am being pinched from the inside or some times it is like i am being stabbed and others is kind of like af  and just a dull throb.

I can test on the 20th. it will be 14dpiui. the trigger tends to be out of your system by 10days out.  i know i have tested at 7dpiui , 8.5 past trigger, and got a bfn. i hat getting the blood drawn but i like knowing the numbers.

you know baby would be due in November right? I went to due date calculator and  put in conception date as 36 hours after trigger (iui day) and mine was October 29.

We have a lot of birthdays in October including mine and dh's so i would be excited.

i couldn't explain it any other way, lol. yeah i would be due nov 3. i know they usually determine your due date by 1st day of your last period. i'm farther out on my cycle. i'm on cd25 today. if i went by that then i would be due oct 26th. well i hope and pray it worked. are you on any supplements? i know not to test early i dont want to be upset if it is BFN but then turns out to be BFP

yes i am on the progesterone cream ( crinone)  it is a tube u stick up u and squeeze the bulb at the end and it puts it up in your va jj. i use to be on the pills but this seems to be less messy and absorber better.

The pill was gross and leaked out. this leaks out a little but not as much.

how great would it be if we ended up pregnant together.

i'm feeling like crap today. very tired, stomach ache, cramping little bit off and on, not very much though. think when i get cramps af is coming. still having discomfort where i told you before, seems like its not going away at all. so you get to find out on monday, how exciting. i'm a week after you on the 27th. i go monday to get my levels checked. been very moody and hate it. everything seems to get on my nerves. so do you think ur pg? i have no idea really if i am or not. been 1 week today since trigger and also with all the other meds you do get symptoms. just have to wait and see. have you tested at all? for the heck of it i did pg test on 4 days past trigger and then again today and very light second line, know of course that it's still trigger in my system. hoping for a BFP. SSBD to us.

girl there was one day where evey lttle thing drove me crazy!!! I felt bad for my boys and dh. I knew i was moody so i guess that helped me not get too mad.

I do think i am prego. I dont really have a lot of symptoms. but eating is a task right now.  Plus every littl ething i eat or drink including water gives me gas.

i might cheat and test in the morning.

yes i only had mine for  24 hrs. it does come and go.


U did good to lose weight on the meds. i gained like crazy. went from 128 to 135 and now back down to 130 and trying to get it back down to before i started the meds. 115.  i was a size 2-4  and weighed 115 before i started fertility meds.  now i am 6-8 and it is killing me. i cant wear most o fmy cloths. I will bust my butt to get it back down. I wasnt even this big at 12 wks prego.

hi soo sorry about your news. i really dont know what to say. i'm getting soo nervous for next monday. i will be ok if its neg. know that it's only my 1st medicated cycle, fingers crossed. i'm having cramps off and on so feel like af is coming. got my results from bw yesterday. progesterone was 75.16 and estradiol was 1900. nurse said my numbers look real good and producing on my own soo thats good. will let you know when i find out. if you need someone to talk to i'm here for you. try and be strong, have a good day...

Thaks girl.  I am hoping u get a bfp. I feel like we are going back wards. I am just trusting God. He knows best. We cant afford to keep going now that i am not working.  we have spent 32,000+ already. That is a lot of money. for nothing but pain and weight gain.

yw. thats all you can do is trust in god. i have hope and faith that it will happen for dh and i but in gods hands, he knows the best for us. this is such an expensive journey to be on but well worth it if it happens. just need time and alot of patience and hope. i feel blessed either way. i have a dh and 2 decembers ago i almost lost him (had to have emergency open heart surgery). it wasnt his time to go and i feel with my history on how messed up it is with my cycles i'm greatful that my tubes are ok and i produced alot of follies and i got this far. things happen for a reason. anyways ty and i do hope i get bfp. praying to god...

I'm new and I'm glad I found this forum. I've been reading throught it and find it very inspring and supporting, its good to know one is not alone since the DH doesn't quite understand.

I had my first IUI last year and got a BFP. I was so excited when I heard the news because two day before, I did a home pregnancy test and got a BFP. So I wasn't really excited about going to the DR. to confirm but I did any. So after being confirmed pregger, I started bleeding the next day which totally stressed me. My mother-in-law (who's a nurse) told me not to strees because stress messes with your hormone levels but i could not help it. I went to the DR and they ran a blood test, turns out my betta was declining instead off doubling (can't quite remember the number). Long story short, my beautiful baby when back to GOD. I was sooo depressed, I think I cried until nothing was left to cry for a couple of months.My bleeding continued for about two to three weks and my mentrual  was irrgular for about 2 mnths.

In Jan of this year I started #2 IUI. Had too many follicles (according to my DR "it was risky") so it was canceled. I am now 4dpiui (which is very) so I have a long way to go. I pray for a BFP and this time a healthy baby. I took 5 days clomid, 4 injections and trigger shot befor and 4 days after IUI. I had cramping immediately after IUI and am still cramping hear and there,  4 day later. I don't know what this can be because I heard implantation usually occurs after 6 days. I am going crazy!!!!

In addition, btw clomid and injections, I have gained 15 pounds ( which is depressing) and have continuos hot flashes. I have faith that that this is the one.

Stay blessed everyone. P.S. One of my strong pregancy sign of my BFP was that I would wake up in the early hours of the morning, couldn't sleep for some reasons.

soo sorry to hear that, i couldn't even imagine. hope this cycle works for both of us. i have 6 more days and soo nervous. i have had cramping off and on for over a week now, dont worry think its normal. i asked my re and they told me that with all the meds and hormone changes it will happen. yeah i know what you mean about the weight gain. i was on clomid 200mg a day for 5d. i produced 16 follies. they werent the size they wanted them to be so was put on follistim 150iu for total of 9 days. my follies grew like crazy. had 2@18 and 1@19 and had 3 each @ 16 and 17. my re told me hes only giving me half my trigger or possibility that i would have 5 or more mature easily and didnt wanna take any chances. i had no hope because follies only grew decent sizes. so re put me on shots for 2 more days and one of my follies went up 11 in 2 days. wow. they were in such shock that they grew just in that short of time. i had total of 3 u/s. had trigger then TI. re said dont need to do iui since dh sperm count is extremely high, which is good. i know that implantation can take up to 12 days. i wish the bust of luck for you and hope you get a bfp. i know it seems like its taking forever. its funny that you mentioned about waking up early in the am for no reason. yeah sometimes i do that at like 230-330 in the am, get out of bed and walk out into the kitchen then i go back to bed, weird, lol...

How's your countdown going? Have  you always gotten up from bed early or did it just start? That may be a good sign;-).

As for me, I am havn cramping 2day as well, funny because I didn't get cramping with my last cycle or maybe I did...hmmm don't remember but this cramping does not feel like AF cramping. This cramping feels wierd almost like inside my tummy is mildly inflamed, can't explain it.

wishuponastar: I started af 13days past iui.  it was all closts ( tmi) continued monday with some clots and bleeding, just very very light yesterday. nothing since about 5 last night.  hpt ( 15dpiui)came back bfn but then line showed up after the 3 mins but it isnt that good so i am thinking bfn.  Who knows maybe God will suprise me and bless me.

All: crazy nurse says clot days dont count. she says they will count yesterday as cd1 i dont agree. so now i have to decide if i go in tomorrow to start another cycle.  I am praying about it and praying God will let me know what to do. dh is on board with it. he said why not. no matter what we are still going on vacation. dh doesnt seem as worried about th emoney as me. he says no i am not working but we have no car payment and no cable, i dont get my hair done or nails,  He said we will catch it up.  it will be ok.  His mother will let him borrow money and then us pay her back if we want to do this again. She paid for part of the one back in August.  she gave us 1500. she knew we were still paying on the surgery.  even with her doing that we still spent 15,000 last year along in medical for me.


I am going to Wait on Gods answers.  i wish he would or could just speak to me. it would make things so much easier.

So sorry to hear that. Hmmm, I don't see why clot days will not count. My Dr says the first time you see blood, it counts. I think you should wait until the next month. This must be very frustrating for you.

These procedures can really put one in financial constraint. Please keep up the fight!

i wish monday would just get here already, lol. trying to keep my mind on something else, but kinda hard. now thats its getting closer to knowing the moment of truth, i keep on thinking did it work, is this the cycle, even though its my 1st one, did we bd enough, lol. i've been doing the waking up in the middle of the night couple times. sometimes its to go to the bathroom and others no reason at all. i do go back to bed, i get up at 415am for work. i have been having cramps off and on and weird feelings kinda like gas bubbles or something? lol it is hard to explain. hope that i get + and not af yet.

I woke up this morning and just had an urge to test (E.P.T) and I got a BFN. I know it's too early, but i couldn't help it, I did it anyways against DH's wishes. I guess I better wait until the 5th, which is when I'm told to come in. This tww is really drivng me crazy, i can't even keep busy!
