I found out last Mon I was pregnant but my beta was low at 22. They said it could still turn out ok, but I had a feeling it wouldn't. On Weds it was down to 8, so it was a chemical pregnancy (my second).
Now the dr wants to move to ivf. I'm so tired and discouraged. If I keep having chemical pregnancies/miscarriages, how is ivf going to make a difference?
Has anyone had multiple miscarriages
and correcting a possible luteal phase defect. The reasons for my mcs are unexplained so really we are just hoping the meds will give us a better chance. Will be starting injectables next month if this cycle of clomid does not work (clomid is thinning my lining). From what I understand ivf can increase chances because the best embryos
I am sorry for your losses. My RE suggested the meds(femara keeps lining from thinning estrace thickens lining which worked mine was 10-11 mm) with injectibles(follistim 75 got 2 nice sized follies with that and novarel hcg trigger 10000 iu and progesterone) first w/o IUI . (I got a bfp 15 dp trigger shot, i go thursday for beta to see if it truely worked)Then if that doesnt work add IUI to that, then if that fails go to IVF. I had 2 mcs prior to the birth of my sons. I was told my progesterone was low (even with my sons and I required progesterone.) and that was the only thing they could find wrong. If cost is an issue(it was for me we are so not rich lol) and you havent tried the other options yet it couldnt hurt to try them first. Best of luck.
I 'm sorry for what you are going through. I had 3 m/c before i moved to IVF. And we did it for the same reason that the other girls said to chose the best embryo
for transfer. Well it didn't work not even one time for me. The first two times negative and the third time Chemical pregnancy. So i don't know what to think at least on my case cause i have became a really difficult case for any doctor. It is true they chose the best embryos
for transfer but not everyone gets pregnant on ivf. I don't know if you get pregnant on your own or with meds but if the pregnancys are natural there are others ways you can go before ivf, like IUI and injections. It is less expensive and stressful. Best of luck
Thanks everyone who responded. Jenny5, I've already done 3 iuis and injectibles and never got pregnant. The two times I did get pregnant (once in Jan and once in May of this year) it was natural, no meds or iui. So I don't know what to think...
It is really stressful i know... I have PCOS and i don't ovulate even though i get my period every month. When i got pregnant i did on injectibles and timed BD, i didn't want to do the IUI i don't quite believe on this things so me and my husband just had some fun. And it worked every time except that i didn't went through the first trimester. So maybe you are like me that you get pregnant on your own even though i took meds to make me ovulate. Maybe you can try accupuncture to help you with the quality of the eggs. I did it with the last IVF and i had 10 embryos that went on to day 5, the cycle before that without the accupunture i only had 3. I also am on on a crossroad that i have no idea what to do.
IVF doesn't work for me and when getting pregnant i M/C. Is like my body doesn't like me having a baby.
I've been doing acupuncture since my last miscarriage (before this one) in Feb. In the past 6 months we've tried three times to get pregnant and succeeded twice--but neither made it past the first trimester.
I'm starting to get really scared. And I think my husband has an idea that once he breaks down and pays for ivf it's a sure thing--even though I've explained to him that it's not, esp. since my prob seems to be miscarrying and not just w/ fertilization issues...
I had the same pbm. Monday confirmed with home preg and blood work on tues. Low beta around 10. Started bleeding very heavily from 2 days. I think it was chemical pregnancy.
