hi my husband and i are tring to get pregnant for over a year now. i went for all testing and everything came back normal with very good ovulation and egg size. my husband on the other hand
came back with no sperm detected he is scheduled for a biopsy on oct 1st. my fertility doctor want me to get my boby ready (hormone shots and meds) if his doctor finds sperm for ivf. My question is do i have to go on the hormone meds if my body is producing eggs and im ovulating every month around the same time cant they just inject his sperm in me when im ovulating??
please anyone help me!!
Yes.. you should follow your doctor order... i think he/she knows best... it's won't hurt to do that.. and the chance to become pregnant higher.. the problem is your husband sperms.. but they only need couple sperms to do IVF.
it's also going to depend on his sperm quality also... So if the motility or morphology is off the best bet would be IVF w/ icsi (where they fertilize the egg) so in that case you would need to be on the hormones for egg retrevial!
But you can ask & see if maybe they can freeze the sperm they do find so if it's fine you can ask to do the iui & if it's not then start the IVF cycle.. I'm not too sure how that works or if it's possible in that situation? But it can't hurt to ask!!
