What is FET?  I did the 5 day.  Again, there are so many different ways, so not sure we still are talking the same.  I went in and they retrieved 13 eggs, my husband had sperm extracted and then of the 13, 12 eggs were good.  7 of them fertilized and only 1 came back good and a girl.  So that is the only one I had to go with.

Was your transfer a 5-day or a 3-day transfer?

The first IVF I did, I took multiple hpt's (3 of them, each 2 days apart) that all came back negative.  And my beta (yes, that's the first blood test from the dr) was also negative.  That was heartbreaking.  But we ended up waiting a couple of months and doing a FET.  That's when I tested with a hpt on day 5 and got a negative result.  I didn't have the heart to do another hpt this time around, so I just waited until my beta.  This time, it miraculously came back positive!

Best of luck to you and happy baby dust.  Try not to stress too much.  Although I know that's SOOO much easier said than done.  The 2ww is the HARDEST part, I think!!

Again - good luck!

Thanks for that info.  So, if I read it right, today, my day 9, I should be able to get a pregnancy test.  Which I did, a home one.  It was negative.  You said you took one at day 5 and it was negative, did you take any other ones and then get a positive?  I am not up on all the lingo here, but your beta test, is that the blood test from the Dr?

I go in the morning for my blood test and I just feel like possibly if I was pregnant, the urine test should have picked it up??????????????  Too much stress with all of this.

Congrats to you, hope you are doing well.

When I had my 5-day transfer, I was wondering how early was too early to test.  I tested 5 days post transfer with a hpt and got a negative.  But both of my betas were positive, so it must have been too early.  Now I am 14 weeks pregnant! :)

During this time, my friend sent me the following information, which was SUPER helpful!  Hopefully it will help you too.

Best of luck and lots of baby dust!!

What Happens After an Embryo Transfer?
Once you complete your embryo transfer, you will have approximately 1½ weeks to wait before a pregnancy can be detected. The following tables outline an approximate timeline for what happens during a successful pregnancy after a 3-day transfer (3dt) and a 5-day transfer (5dt).

3-Day Transfer

One
The embryo continues to grow and develop, turning from a 6-8 cell embryo into a morula

Two
The cells of the morula continue to divide, developing into a blastocyst

Three
The blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell

Four
The blastocyst continues to hatch out of its shell and begins to attach itself to the uterus

Five
The blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining, beginning implantation

Six
Implantation continues

Seven
Implantation is complete, cells that will eventually become the placenta and fetus have begun to develop

Eight
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) starts to enter the blood stream

Nine
Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted

Ten
Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted

Eleven
Levels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy

5-Day Transfer

One
The blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell

Two
The blastocyst continues to hatch out of its shell and begins to attach itself to the uterus

Three
The blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining, beginning implantation

Four
Implantation continues

Five
Implantation is complete, cells that will eventually become the placenta and fetus have begun to develop

Six
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) starts to enter the blood stream

Seven
Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted

Eight
Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted

Nine
Levels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy

I had 1 embryo (female) transferred on May 1st and I go in tomorrow for blood work.  I couldn't stand it anymore and I went and bough the First Response pregnancy test, that says it is the only one that detects 6 days before your missed period.  Well it was negative.  So I am trying so hard not to cry.  BUT, I have been reading that perhaps day 9 won't detect it anyway and I may still be ok.  Just bummed, so wish I wouldn't have taken it.

When do you get your test?

Sweetheart, you tested way too soon for a urine-based test to pick up anything.  The doctor scheduled the test when he did not to be mean, but because that is the first day the (very sensitive) blood test will reliably give an accurate result.  Urine-based tests are less sensitive than the blood tests.  Just remember, this is not the first time you will have to wait to see something about your pregnancy that only time alone can make happen, and it's not the first time being a mother will test your patience.  :)  Good luck, in your shoes I might test with first-morning urine the day of the blood test, but not sooner.  That way, if the home test is negative, you don't have long to wait for the blood test to tell you if you're really pregnant or not.  Take care.
