ladies what is a triphasic chart? I do not chart as much

so what does it mean when a chart is triphasic? does it mean the temps after ovulation do not necessarily stay up all the time? is it the ones that go up and down but stay above coverline? sorry I am ignorant LOL.... just wondering :) I hear it all the time yet I really never understood what it means...

Hi tea_berries! A triphasic chart is basically a chart that has three levels of temperatures...low before ovulation, then higher after O, and then a third level of even higher temps after implantation.

Although, some charts look triphasic even in a non-pregnant cycle, and others do no show a triphasic trend when it is in fact a pregnancy cycle. I've never had a triphasic chart, not even when I got pregnant last summer (I was charting at the time).

Hope that helps :-)
