late ovulation

I just got my period yesterday after being 8 days late.  I feel very sad and concerned because that means that I ovulated late and that isn't normal.  Has anyone here experience late ovulation and do you know what is the cause of it?

o'ing late doesnt have to be a bad thing. Do you know when you ovulated or are you just assuming based on your late AF? If you know when you O'd you can calculate the length of your luteal phase, as long as that  stays around 14 days dont stress too much

leutal phase is the time from O till AF starts it should be 10-14 days

Thanks for your answers.  I get so confused with all these things.  I guess I should startd charting my temperature and mucus and all that.  I don't even know when or if I O'd this month.  I'm so upset right now.  I just wish things could've been easy for me and had conceived when I first started.  I need to have more patience I guess.
