is really just a word that is used to describe a lot of different things that can cause a man to either
a.) be physically incapable of producing a biological child or
b.) have difficult in conceiving a biological child
there are many reasons why a man might have trouble conceiving with his partner. He might have a low sperm count or no sperm count. He might have retrograde
(where the ejaculate actually goes into the bladder and out through the urine instead of where it's supposed to go). He may have a varacole vein where the sperm is blocked from getting through. A man may have plenty of sperm but they may have poor mobility (they can't get around good). There are a lot of reasons why a man would have difficulty in conceiving a child. To find out what the solution is then the man would have to be evaluated by a qualified doctor to determine what's going on in his body and then the options discussed. Some things can POSSIBLY be fixed such as retrograde ejaculation and a varicole vein. Other things such as a zero sperm count due to a genetic factor cannot be fixed. Your family doctor or OB/GYN should be able to do an initial sperm assessment through one of their labs (or at least ours were able to do this). For further assessment a urologist is often required. I hope this has helped.
