new to this :)

I am very new to this... so please be patient with me... lol  I am hoping to be a gestational carrier for my cousin. She is a diabetic and unable to carry her own child. We have been going through the motions for a few months and finally last friday the 8th we did the transfer. When they did her retrieval they only retrieved 2 eggs. Only one embryo to transfer. It was a grade 3   10 cell. I went for my progesterone test on wednesday and it was 28. I have a friend who did this once and had grade 1 embryos. She said my transfer will never work with grade a grade 3 embryo. I felt that was harsh to say knowing this is such an emotional time for everyone involved. Anyway.... I would just like to know is there anyone out there that had 10 cell grade 3 embyos? And what about my progesterone at 28? Does that mean anything? My cousin and her husband are wonderful people and really want a child. I really want this to work for them and hope I can give them great news soon! Thanks Ladies!!!

Thank you for the kind words.... My cousin is doing okay. We are all trying to stay positive. I guess you never really know what is going to work. The nurse told me that sometimes even perfect embryos don't work. So I guess it's all up to the man upstairs :) Good luck to you!

Your cousin is absolutely lucky to have you in her life. I don't know anyone who would be willing to do something like this for me, nor would I be able to do this for someone else. What a wonderful gift! Bless your heart! There must be a special place in heaven for poeple like you.

Having only 2 eggs retrieved and 1 grade 3 embryo to transfer is unfortunately not very reassuring. How old is your cousin? Nevertheless, my RE had told me that he had patients who got pregnant with a grade 3 embryo, so you never know. I had 3 embryos transferred, grade 1, 2 and 3 and none implanted. Other women had worse odds and things somehow worked out for them.

I wish you all the best.

God bless.
