hello my fiance has been told he has low sperm count and that im not ouvlating and i was just wondering when my partner goes to see a specilast what will happen to make him inmprove his sperm count and what tests would he have to go through
Depending on just how low his sperm count is - they may try IUI first ( red in your other post they were talking IVF).
I have heard of Clomid to improve sperm count. They may also suggest certain lifestyle changes too (boxers instead of briefs, no hot tubs, stuff like that). Not too sure about the sperm count stuff, though.
As for not ovulating - there are drugs they can give you. My friend had an injection she had to give herself and it worked to make her O (can't remember the name, sorry)
Although you do have a lot working against you, all hope certainly is not lost :)
They will want to do a sperm analysis on him to see exactly what the numbers are. There are like 7 parts to a SA, which I didn't realize till my husband went through it.
They can give you meds to make you O.
IVF will probably have a greater % of working than IUI. Not sure about that, but I do have a friend that went thru 2 failed IUI's before succeeding in 1 IVF, and her husband had low sperm count.
I had same problems. I wasn't ovulating and my dh has low sperm count. My doc gave my dh tribestan (not sure about the spelling) and wanted him to take for 3 months. In the meantime I was on clomid 100mg from D2 to D6. We went for our first IUI last month and now I am 6 weeks pregnant. I think most important thing is you and your fiance must corporate with your doc. I am sure he can help. Don't worry too much, talk to fiance and visit your doc together to find a solution. It might not happen fast but i am sure that day will come. Good luck!!!!
