obesity and miscarriages?

obesity and miscarriages?

Hello I am from florida. I was writing because I recently got married, Im 21 yrs old and I had 2 miscarriages in 3 months. Both pregnancies I got pregnant within my FIRST cycle. I was not even trying.(the first time on my honeymoon) The public health care doctors(I have no medical insurance) told me I weight too much and my hormones go crazy and my brain rejects the pregnancy. I weight 250 and Ive been obese my whole life and I just started a diet program to lose 100 lbs. I was just wondering why is it that My body is micarrying my babies...I know Im obese, but they didnt tell me what exactly happened. I get 28-day cycle periods, they said my hormone levels are excellent, but both pregnancy dont reach 8 weeks cuz the hormones dont rise at all. I'm afraid to lose the weight and still be miscarry. All my test come out as healthy all they say is my obesity but it hurts because some of my friends weight the same or more than me and have 3 or 4 kids. I know Im young but I have no doctor to listen to me with no insurance. please help me! what should I do? is the losing the weight going to let me have my baby? my period already started to go back to normal...but Im so scared that I will not be able to have a baby cuz I keep miscarrying!"

Hi There,
I have been where you are now, regarding being severly overweight. 10 years ago I weighed over 215 lbs and I am only 5'5, so you can only imagine how big i was,. during that time, I was with my first husband, no birth control at all, for 7 years, no pregnancy. I went to a fertility specalist and being overweight can cause fertility issues and problems carrying a baby to full term.  Needless to say I lost 101 lbs and got pregnant about 2 years later, with the help of chlomed.(spelling?). You should be losing weight, not only for the purposes of trying to carry a baby full term, but for your own health. Take your time, lose the weight in a healthy way, and I am sure everything will fall right into place. Just because your friends were able to have children doesn't mean anything, everyone metabolizes differently, and I can just imagine how awful it is to not be able to afford a doctor, fortunatly I am Canadian and had free medical care, and now I live in Europe and free here too, just hang in there kiddo, and write anytime  you like!!  Trick I used to lose the weight: I stopped eating after 6 at night. ate half my ususal portion, and gave up chips, and white bread,(my weakness bigtime!!).. Take care and I wish you all the best in the world!!

I agree that first and foremost you need to lose the extra wt for your health. My other concern is that your still trying to get pregnant without insurance for you or your child, who's going to pay for this?

Here in Florida pregnant women get medicaid if they make less than x amount. My question was not WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR MY LABOR? it was about my obesity. It should not be your concern who will pay it or not right? they took away my MEDICAID when I had a miscarriage!

thank you SOOOOOOOOO much I needed to hear from someone that knows what I'm going thru. It's so hard to lose weight but I already lost 5 lbs in one week. after I lose 100lbs I will seek a fertility expert to make sure everything is fine before we try again. I'm on a clinical weight loss program and is working so far....thanks so much! did your fertility expert tell you that obesity may cause a hormonal imbalance? I believe thats whats happening to me...please and thanks so much!!!!!!
