how does the ovulation tracker work? I always calculate that I O a day or three before the tracker calculates.

I looked for your tracker to see, but don't see one. The tracker uses the Fertility Awareness Method, primarily.

The Fertility Awareness Method detects ovulation after 3 temperatures are recorded above the previous 6, indicating a clear thermal shift.

It also depends on what you have checked for your settings.  There is FAM, Self, and OPK.  I always keep all 3 checked.  Tina describes FAM above, for OPK, it marks O as the day after a + and for Self, it's when YOU say you O, by checking Ovulation Day.
