ovulation and progesterone level

I am on my third cycle of Clomid. My doctor has been ordering progesterone tests on Day 21 of my cycle. Last month, I had a level of 23, which my doctor says was good (they were looking for a level over 15). This month, it was only 11. However, my ovulation test didn't show a positive result until Day 18/19. Is it possible that the progesterone test was done too early after ovulation to be accurate? (I've read that it's supposed to be done 7 dpo). Or does it mean that I either didn't ovulation or have a good ovulation? Help!

Progesterone peaks at around 7 dpo (unless you are pregnant) so if you didn't ovulate on CD14 then the CD21 result will be off.  My doc has mine checked anywhere b/n 6 dpo and 8 dpo but generally at 7 dpo if it's not on a weekend.  Did you tell your doc that your OPK was late?

I was tested on cd20, and my Progesterne was 6.93.  It wasn't where they wanted it to be, so they put me on Prometrium, but they still said it was high enough to show ovulation.  I also had an ultrasound and did an OPK, which both also confirmed ovulation.

My level was 11 last cycle when it was tested and my doc said that was high enough to indicate that I definatly did ovulate.

Perhaps it was just not as hig because like you said, you O'd late. However, 11 is good to say you did ovulate
