What size was your dominant follicle? Did she do a progesterone test 7 days after ovulation? That is the standard test to confirm if ovulation has happened. You should request one next month if she did not do one and it is too late this month.
Not everyone with PCOS has irregular periods, so it could be possible, but normally you have other symptoms with PCOS. If your antral follicles were all in a line, forming a ring around your ovary, that is a classic sign of PCOS. There is a picture of that hanging on my RE's office wall.
A consistent rise in BBT in the latter phase of your cycles would indicate that you ovulate. If you had monophasic BBTs, those that do not rise but rather continue along in a similar range, would mean that you have anovulatory cycles. I don't think that's the case. I also don't think you have PCOS, since irregular periods are a primary symptom.
I'm glad you looked up the information online by yourself to find more answers. As you pointed out, a count of 30 is on the higher end of normal. This alone would not hinder your ability to become pregnant, especially if you're still ovulating! Please don't let the sonogram results frighten you. Best of luck to you!
