pls help..asking about evening primrose oil

i took evening primrose oil for 14 days started on my last peiod,does evening primrose oil delays menstrual cycle?

Hi there,
Evening Primrose Oil is used for regulation of periods. It is also useful in cases where menses do not happen every month, or when the cycle is not stable. It adjusts the hormonal fluctuations during the cycle and diminishes the symptoms of PMS and painful periods. It is not certain whether it causes delay in periods. Pregnancy is the commonest cause of delayed periods. Hormonal imbalances, thyroid disorders and ovulation disorders are few other common causes. Seek the opinion of a gynecologist. A clinical examination and work up like pregnancy test, hormonal profile and scan may be needed. Do write to us again.
