I have also been told that i  have mild pcos on my one remaining ovary!    i am of normal/underweight....typically metformin does a wonderful job at regulating periods or at least helping!     my dr didn't want to becuase of my wieght so instead i ate a REALLy low carb diet (which was really hard to do) and thats the month we got preg!    i think that exercising on a regular basiss >20min of cardio 4 times a week also helps regulate periods and hormones and has been shown to help in ovulatory problems.. (now i just gotta make the time to go to the gym to make that happen!)   GOOD LUCK!

I know that i have PCOS also and the doctor prescribed metformin for me.  I know that this makes the cysts on the overies go away but he also gave me birth control.
