My Hcg dropped and it took a few days b4 I started bleeding. A lot of the time the tiny embryo just gets absorbed quickly and it takes a day or so for your body to realize it.

If this is the case and it turns out to be a chemical pg, it sounds like maybe your problem isn't conceiving, but rather staying pregnant. You may be getting pg and just not knowing because they don't last very long. Sometimes it can be due to something simple like needing to take low dose asprin. Others can be more serious.

Have you ever seen a dr about how long it is taking?

Hi Amy,

It does sound like your hcg beta numbers were up and then went down and you probably tested positive and negative because of the sensitivity of the tests used.  Also, there is the question of whether you tested with the ept hpt too early and got a false positive. That would only be the case if you took an HCG trigger shot before you ovulated and all of the hcg hormone was not out of your system. Since you mentioned an o/b and not an RE, I'm guessing that's not the case. The good news is that you and your hubby finally conceived and your body won't forget that! So if you're really no longer pregnant this month, you have an even better chance of getting prenant next month! By the way, you will eventually bleed with a chemical but it could delay bleeding.

Have you taken another ept hpt?

I had a chemical recently. My period was suppose to start today but so far nothing. I'm hoping it will start soon as I'm excited about trying again. Chemical is bad news but fertilization is good news. Dwell on the positive side!

Wow, that is very ponderous. When your dr gave you the news of a positive result, did they give you an Hcg # or just say positive?

I'm not trying to be a downer and I truly hope that my opinion is wrong, but this is what it looks like to me. You were pregnant and the Hcg was rising when you did the hpts. At drs office the urine test came back neg because the Hcg started dropping. Dr office urine tests, test at a higher Hcg level than the ones we buy usually around 100.  The blood test they had done was positive because it is considered positive if over 10. Some are 20, but most labs qualitive tests are 10. Then later at the hospital when they did the blood test it had dropped even further. I am so hoping I am wrong, but it does have all the signs of a chemical pregnancy. I'm sorry to have a bad answer for you.
