positive ovulation test 6 days in a row , is this normal?
hi everyone , i tested with a OPK got a postivie day 15 ( test line faint) next day day 16 was darker which meant i was about to ovulate the next day ( day 17) again dark and then the next 3 days again 2 lines but test line faint would anyone be able to give me some insight on this thanks
It's not unusual to get faint lines for a few days before and after your actual surge. I get that too. My test line gradually gets darker over three days or so, until I see the actually surge. Once I see a lighter line again, I stop testing. (Although you're actually suppose to stop testing the day you detect the surge...I just like to check to make sure it goes back down again to better pinpoint ovulation).
Unlike pregnancy tests, a faint line does not mean positive with OPKs. It has to be as dark or darker than the control line to be considered positive. A faint test line would therefore be considered negative.
Just make sure you chart the first day the test line was as dark or darker than the control line as your LH
thanks girls , i too was suspicious of PCOS summer0728 so i had an u/s done 2 days later all was ok so dont know what all that was about thanks for your fedback girls and your reply made me feel a lot at ease Heather5 thanks
I don't think it's that unusual since the lines before your surge were faint and after your surge were faint. This just means you're catching the surge on the way up and then again on the way down. I don't have PCOS and that is how my tests look. Although I typically don't keep testing after my surge is detected. It's not necessary and can get expensive.
thanks babyalive , i was just a bit concerned cause even though the test line wasnt darker than the other line it was still quite obvious darker than faint and i have been having other symptoms that are similar to that of PCOS but thank god the u/s came back normal but sounds like other people have similar experiences so i am relieved oh well today is cd25 i will test in a weeks time good luck to all of us!
