I also used Preseed after ttc for 20 months, and got pregnant. Unfortunately, I miscarried in my 10th week, but it was due to other reasons. I have been using it since, but so far haven't gotten the BFP. I just did an IUI 6 days ago and am keeping my fingers crossed.
By the way, they now sell PreSeed at CVS.

I heard about Preseed in November 2010 after almost a year and a half of trying to conceive. I am 42 years old and was very doubtful of it. However after reading success stories I went and bought a box by the CVS pharmacy. I used only 3 applicators during my fertile and ovulation period. in December 2010. Today is Jan 19,2011. I missed my period on Dec 28 and after having several stomach cramps and feeling a bit like i am having the flu, i did the preganacy test on January 17 and i was so surprized than in a couple od seconds, both lines on the preganacy test were so bright its unbelievable. Today I am 43 years old. I am scheduled for a doctors appointment on Jan 21...but based on my sore boobs and nauseous feeling I have no doubt i am really pregnant. If you really want to get pregnant..dont be doubtful..give it a try and be positive... babay dust to you all

I'm furious!  I ordered my Preseed a week and a half ago and I still haven't got it.  Apparantly because I live in Canada it takes 7-10 business days, not the 2-6 like it said.  I ovulated yesterday and still no Preseed!  I guess we can still use it for fun though!  Congratulations to all of the BFP's!

ALT76, Congrats to you!!!

I am going to start using the epo and see if it helps. I don't think I have a problem with ewcm but I figure it can't hurt to try something else. I did try preseed for 2 cycles with no luck but I was missing my O day by 3 or 4 days. Thanks to temping, I finally got that figured out.

Good luck all, SSBD!!

Well, I said I'd let you know and I have good news!  It worked!  After 3 yrs of trying, 3 surgeries, chemical pregnancies, 2 IVF's, 2 IUI's 6 ovarian cyst ruptures, 2 HSG's, 7 months on clomid (back in the beginning).... I have been getting positive tests since Sunday and af isn't due til TOMORROW and I had my beta today (a day early) and it was a 46!!!!

This was our last effort before I have a hysterectomy - so this is BEYOND good news!  The highest number I've ever gotten before was a 10 on my beta, and it was always obvious it wasn't gonna stick (I'd be spotting).  I have just about every card stacked against my fertility - PCOS, endometriosis, adenomyosis and asherman's syndrome.  I have been in constant pain everyday for over a year now.  Even my doctor told me to give up and have the hysterectomy if I wanted my daily pain to end.  Even my FAMILY told me to give up.  Just 2 weeks ago I was beginning to agree with them and was in so much pain I wondered if I just made the wrong decision and should've had it taken out already.  HAHAHA if this pregnancy comes to term I'm gonna shove that baby in every one of their faces and say SEE!!  This is what HOPE and never giving up on your dreams looks like!!!

Sorry - I digress.  Just so excited!  Anyway, in regards to the preseed, what I can tell you is that I had ovarian drilling done in July as a last ditch effort to conceive before having a hysterectomy.  I didn't think I had another fertility treatment in me because it would be too much pressure knowing it was my "last try".  So the first cycle afterwards I ovulated, and we did NOT use preseed.  All the conditions were perfect.  I O'd on our first vacation in 5 years, we just sold our house which lifted a huge stress off of us, and I got to do nothing but relax during my 2ww because I hadn't started work yet and as I said, we were even on vacation for a week of it.  All those optimal conditions and NO DICE.

However, this month I was back to work for the first time in a long time, I O'd again and we DID use the preseed - and WHAMMO!  First time for everything!  Sorry for the drawn out story I'm just SOOO excited!

Good luck to you!

Hi there.

I had been taking EPO to increase CM.  The RE told me not to take it while on Clomid and that if I wanted more  CM to take Robitussin and use PreSeed.  I was kindof ticked off because I found that the EPO gave me a lot more CM.  Never got the fertile quality CM but there wasnt much need to use anything else!

EPO is Evening Primrose Oil.  It's a vitamin supplement that you take on the first half of your cycle.  Here is some info:

Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) - Its Role In Trying to Conceive
What is Evening Primrose oil or EPO?
Evening Primrose Oil is the oil derived from a North American wildflower called Evening Primrose. Evening Primrose is not really a primrose, but it gets its name from that flower because the plant looked similar to an English Primrose. The oil is rich in Vitamin E just like olives and nuts are. In addition, evening primrose oil also has gamma linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid. People that have difficulty creating in this fatty acid in their own bodies can benefit from its use.

The Europeans were one of the first to make it popular. They brought it back to their native soil and crowned this oil a “King’s cure-all” because of its many useful properties that can cure a large number of diseases. In England, the oil is approved for use with eczema and high cholesterol. In women, it can especially be helpful for relieving breast pain, menstrual pains and improving the quality and fertility of cervical mucus.

How does Evening Primrose Oil help you in getting pregnant?
Evening Primrose Oil or EPO lowers cholesterol, helps to alleviate premenstrual syndrome symptoms and aids in the production of fertile quality cervical fluid. Evening Primrose Oil or EPO does a world of good in treating aliments of all sorts. Evening Primrose Oil or EPO is an essential fatty acid that contains gamma linolenic acid (GLA). This gamma linolenic acid (GLA) is converted to a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin E1 which has anti-inflammatory properties and may also act as a blood thinner and blood vessel dilator. These anti-inflammatory properties of evening primrose oil help people suffering from pains, aches and cramps.

Evening Primrose Oil or EPO also has effects on premenstrual syndrome symptoms and cervical mucus. If you suffer from premenstrual syndrome, it could be because you are deficient in the fatty acid, gamma linolenic acid (GLA). Evening Primrose Oil or EPO can help your body to alleviate the premenstrual syndrome symptoms by replacing the gamma linolenic acid (GLA).

Evening Primrose Oil or EPO helps women to produce more fertile quality cervical fluid also known as “egg white cervical mucus”. This type of cervical fluid is fertile, thin, watery, clear and “stretchy” and easily aids the sperm to swim through the uterus and into the fallopian tube, and to the egg. Also, this type of fluid helps the sperm to stay alive for up to five days inside the fallopian tube, thus enabling conception to happen even if you don’t have intercourse again by the time ovulation occurs.

If your cervical fluid is thick, brown or dry, it can obstruct or prevent fertilization. Some women are very dry, and have problems in producing an adequate amount of fertile quality cervical fluid. Drinking a lot of water and taking the Evening Primrose Oil or EPO can certainly help in the production of fertile cervical fluid in these women.

What is the dosage for Evening Primrose Oil or EPO?
Evening Primrose Oil or EPO should only be taken from menstruation to ovulation. This is because Evening Primrose Oil or EPO can cause uterine contractions in pregnancy. The dosage taken should be 1500mg to 3000mg per day. Since essential fatty acids are necessary, you can take flax seed oil in place of Evening Primrose Oil or EPO after ovulation. This may be taken throughout pregnancy as well.

There are many remedies out there to help with fertility, but few are as good as Evening Primrose Oil or EPO. Evening Primrose Oil or EPO is excellent for women because of the help it gives in alleviating premenstrual syndrome symptoms, and even menopausal women can benefit from taking it. There are a large number of women who will vouch for Evening Primrose Oil or EPO as a great agent to increase the fertile type cervical fluid.

Like all herbs, the use of Evening Primrose Oil or EPO can take a month or two to build up, and produce the results you are looking for. It is essential that you chart your fertility symptoms and signs, so you can know when you have ovulated. By knowing this information, you can discontinue the Evening Primrose Oil or EPO after ovulation and start the flax seed oil. Unless you are very regular, charting your fertility signs is the best tool to determine where you are in your cycle.

I tried Mucinex one cycle, instead of Robitussen, but it didn't work. I don't know if it was user error or not - LOL.  My RE has heard of EPO, so I feel ok taking it and I will stick with that for now as it's the only time I get a hint of EWCM.

FInally someone who sorta agrees w/me LOL  What is EPO, I'm curious!
& about robitussen, it's so strange, I swear the 2x's I've tried it, I have NO CM!  Coincidence maybe?  IDK.  This month was not good, I was on clomid had no side effects except for a few hot flashes but I had NO cm, & I normally have lots...thats how I always new when I was gonna O.

We've tried it a couple of times, and yes if you use the whole tube it's messy!!  I asked my RE about it and she wasn't such a big fan.  She said to use Canola oil instead.  That seems REALLY messy, so we haven't gone there.  But, on the other hand, I've heard lots of success stories with pre-seed so I say go for it!!

I'm a big fan of using EPO to increase quality CM.  The only time I've had any EWCM is the months I've taken EPO.  You can also try the Robitussen trick.  Just google robitussen and fertlity and you should find all the info you need.

To each their own ;)  I've been pg 6x's w/good old fashion KY, but I guess there's nothing wrong w/using preseed.  If the issue is too acidic, there are natural ways to combat that, being too acidic is not healthy overall, & it's good to get out of that problem.  But thats a WHOLE other subject!
I did lots of research on cancer (my old DR thought I had ovarian cancer a year ago) & found that by balancing out the acid in your body will HELP prevent  cancer cells grow & help STOP it from spreading faster. Of course this subject is debatable too.  Anyway, PH is VERY important, whether ttc/or not ;)

My RE recommended that we use it because I do not have much fertile CM.

It's actually not bad - you can put it in a long time before BD so DH doesnt even have to know that you are using anything at all.   Only thing is that i would advise to use it somewhat sparingly because if you overdo it, it can be pretty messy!

We used it last month.  We only BD'd ONCE all month and i know that the swimmers were able to get where they needed to go because we had a very short lived BFP.   It didnt stick, but I guess it shows that the sperm were able to travel.

I think it's worth a shot,

g

Just puttin in my two cents one more time :o)

It wouldn't really matter at all if they use the KY for an U/S before an IUI because they bypass the vagina all together where the lubricant would be.  They insert a catherter directly into your cervix, at the top of your vagina and would be missing the vagina (where the lube would be) all together.

yes they do.  Maybe cuz my husband has a high sperm count, IDK, maybe if that was an issue they wouldn't use it.  They use it in the US BEFORE not for the iui

They use that during an iui really.. Cause I have had 2 iui cycles and my Dr said they don't want anything interfering with the iui. They told me to when trying to conceive never to use lubricant.. The nurses told me about preseed. Because it balanced the PH So i asked alot of questions and the research is there about the Preseed..

When You do an IUI they normally do a Vaginal US & slop the stuff on.  The nurse told me if they thought it would be a problem, they obviously wouldn't use it.
Glad you like it, just not my thing.

one more thing - it's not really a lubricant perse - you use an applicator and put it INSIDE to balance the pH of the vagina and have optimal conditions for the sperm to travel through - so I thought it was worth a shot!

I certainly thought it was worth a shot because (sorry if TMI) - I often have a strong vinegary smell coming from down there so I was concerned that things were too acidic and potentially killing the sperm so I definitely bought into the whole ph balancing thing.

Plus, sperm don't have to travel through KY jelly for an ultrasound

I'm not a big fan of it.  I asked my RE about lubricants & he said as long as it doesn't contain spermacide, then its fine.
They use good ol'KY for all their vaginal US's!
