progesterone and estrogen in same time!!

My doctor put me on Clomid last month, because my husband and I were thinking to do IUI.  I Ovulate good by myself. Usually the egg size is 21 on day 14 (my cycle is every 30 days, and usually I ovulate on day 16). I made ultrasound many times in previous months.
My husband has low motility 45% (sluggish and active). And 23 m per m/cc volume 6.5 cc. But last test show that the agglutination of sperms is Present.  
After taking the clomid, I end up with 3 mature eggs size around (25, 22, and 21). The doc gave me trigger on day 14. I know that I have low endo thickness 7 mm.
We tried naturally and we did not do the IUI. Unfortunately,  I am not pregnant. And my cycle is very light )almost 2 days only. And I notice that there is some blood tissues. Is this my endo lining?
Is light period due to taking clomid or the trigger in day 14?
I am so concern about my endo thickness size. The doc said 7mm its fine. but I read its not. And I read that clomid lower the thickness of the endo, though my doc said it suppose to increase it!!! I don’t agree.  (note: I made hysteroscopy, and the doc said that I have triple lining and my uterus look like pear, the tubes are good and everything look great).
When I asked the doc to give me estrogen to increase the thickness, she said the estrogen have side effects that causes the cervix to be harder which will prevent the sperm from getting to the point.
I read that estrogen better to be taken on day 13 or so so it does not affect the size of egg (not to stop get from growing).
Some suggest taking progesterone and estrogen in same time!!
I don’t know what should I do?  Am TTC, and am 34 yrs and my husband is 40.
Can you please advice?

I am doing FET's so I don't know about the estrace hardining the cervix, but in my last cycle, I was on 10mg of Estrace and 600mg of prometrium a day.  The prometrium i started 3 days before ET.

sorry to ask, what FET stands for?
I read that the best time to take estrogen is after day 12, so that the egg size will not be affected with the estrogen.

its okey :) am not so failiar with some of the terms :)
So have you have IVF before? and this is your second. my dh and me were talking that if by end of this year we couldn't have baby naturally or by iui, we may consider IVF or icsi :) (am 34yrs and my dh is 40 yrs)

if you don't mind my asking, why do you take estrogen?

We never got to do IVF, and at time of retreval, my uterus was not thick enough to do a ET.  We actually got preg. first time, but unfortunately I miscarriaged (uterus issue again) .  The estrogen builds up the uterus.  Our 2nd FET, our eggs did not do well after the thaw.  Hopefully the 3rd time is a charm!  I am 42 and DH is 41.  We have 11 frozen (icsi'd) embies left.

oh I have a question pls. when the uterus/endo lining goes up, does it stay up or it goes down to were it was themonth before, and I have to keep taking estrogen/proges every month until I get pregnant?

I was on Lupron for 2 weeks, and just before i was going to start my stims, they found a fibroid. My lining was thin from the lupron. So after the surgery I took estradiol for 4 weeks and added the progesterone the last 2 weeks , so both together. My Re said she wanted me to have a big period. Then we will start the process all over..

I did IUI last cycle with clomid. It was my first attempt with both clomid and IUI. I too wound up with a thin lining. it was only 6 mm 2 days prior to IUI so dr started me on estrogen (oral)  2x a day. I did the IUI and went in for an U/S the following week. My lining only got to a 7 even on the estrogen. By the way, i was also taking progesterone suppositories starting 1 day after the IUI so for most of the time, i was taking them simultaneously. The dr said the 7mm was fine and good luck. I did not get pregnant. I was going to try IUI again this month but my baseline u/s showed a small cyst on my ovary (probably due to the clomid) so my dr said i could not do stimulation meds but we discussed my options for next cycle. He advised based on the clomid making my lining thin - we should do injectables. He said although my lining was a 7 - it really should be above an 8. My period was very light this month but i've had light periods a lot of the months so i'm not sure if my lining was thin from the clomid or what.  anyway, if i don't get pregnant this cycle or on the next IUI, i want to save up for IVF. I have heard so many success stories. anyway, good luck!

I read that clomid lower the endo thickness. And I read that it may cause cysts.  So maybe clomid caused the cysts and helped in lowering the thickness. I had light period after taking the clomid too.
Myself, I will ask the doc to work on increasing my endo, I hope in goes up to 9 or 10.
Does it stay up or should I keep taking the pills every month until I get pregnant?

I think each case is different.  My RE had me on estrace for 4 months straight after my d&c, but just stopped it after my BFN.  I am on day 1 of my cycle, so I will see if he puts me back on it or not.  My lining was over 7mm but I can't remember exactly what it was it.
