provera

I am 25 and married, ready to have a baby. I've been on the birth control pill since i was 16 due to irregular periods. I stopped taking the pill sept 19 2008 and only got one period in Jan. the gyno suggested i may have POS and prescribed metformin 500 twice a day; i started taking metformin in jan and still no period. The gyno suggested provera followed by something else. What do you think?

I think it sounds reasonable.  She will probably put you on clomid, an ovulation inducing drug.  You will take provera for about 5 days and you should start your period within 10 days or so.  You will then start taking clomid, usually CD 5 - 9.  Your doc will let you know.
