question 4 people who have done ivf/about retrieval
Hi guys,
I had my retreival yesterday. It went well, they got 13 eggs!
My question is this-Is it normal to feel really bloated and uncomfortable the next day? I hate this feeling. I've been feeling fine all through the injections and even yesterday morning before the retrieval. Last night I started getting bloated and this morning I woke up and was still really bloated. It kind of hurts to pee. I've been drinking a lot of gatorade and have been going to the bathroom constantly because of it. Is this all pretty normal?
I am glad your retrieval went well. Yes it is normal to be very bloated. I almost felt my tummy will burst open. I was off work the day of retrieval and day after but had to call in sick for another as I could not even stand up straight. I was like that for about 3 days and then it went down a bit. Gatorade helps they say and salty things. Have light meals. It is not a nice feeling is it? uuh. Get plenty of rest. When do you go in for your transfer?
Yes, I have been drinking lots of gatorade. Eating is not too much fun as I feel like there is no more room for anything in there! It really is an uncomfortable feeling.
I'm probably going to be having a 5 day transfer, but possibly 3 day. I am supposed to call on Friday morning and they will tell me then if I need to come in for a three day transfer on that day. They are thinking most likely it will be day 5. I'm really hoping!! I just got the fertilization report in. Out of the 13 eggs, 2 died, 7 fertilized, and 3 they are waiting to see if they will fertilize in a day or two. I'm not sure why? Maybe because they were slightly immature? I guess I should be happy with that. I don't know, I was just hoping all 13 would fertilize, that's probably a little unrealistic though. What do you think of that fertilization report? I don't know what is average. I thought of all of these questions after I got off the phone.
just remember some bloating is normal...but you can get severe bloating & OHSS....which I had. I was very bloated, had trouble breathing, shortness of breath
