question help

I went to er with pain and burning sensation like i had uti. I was checked and no uti. They pain had been going on for two weeks. They found fluid surrounding my adnomen and kidneys etc. I was prescribed pain killers and tetracycline which was doxy-cycl. I have been on meds for two days and I kinda feel worse. What can I take to help? My period is around corner and if pain does;t ease down I'm going be miserable. The pain I have is cramping in my stomach, sometimes side pain and burning in my stomach. Help

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It would have been really helpful if you had shared more details about this fluid around the abdomen and kidneys. Are you suffering from ascites? The common causes of ascites are liver cirrhosis, heart failure, kidney disease etc.Is it some form of infection since you have been prescribed antibiotics? Pain and burning in stomach can be seen in gastritis, reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatitis etc. If you are not having pain relief I will advise you to consult a gastroenterologist and get a complete medical evaluation done. Take a light diet and avoid hot spicy food. Take some over the counter antacid for relief in pain and burning sensation. You may need additional tests like liver function tests, serum amylase and other tests based on your clinical findings. It is also essential to rule out gynecological causes of abdominal pain like PID, ovarian cysts etc.Seek the opinion of a healthcare professional. Keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
