question on accupuncture

hello ladies,i have a very quick question for those of u who have done or are still doing accupuncture.i have had 2 sessions and i'm a little bit worried.can somebody tell me how many needles approximately and where they stick the needles? i'm a little bit worried b/c the lady i'm using keeps going to a book to read something before sticking in the needles.i want to know if i need to start looking for a new accupuncturist.

I was doing acupuncture... The first month of it I had gotten p/g, unfortunately I m/c. But my lady had anywhere from 15-20 needles in me! They specifically treat infertility. I usually had 3-4 on my feet, 2 on my legs, 1 over each ovary and various points throughout my head and even my face and hands. But that was also to treat headaches... Mine never stopped to read her books or look at charts.... I would find another...

I too do accupuncture and I have never had needles near my ear.  She too takes my pulse, Blood pressure and puts in about 10 needles or so. In fact, I bought a CD which is a relaxation CD when doing IVF (by Zita West) and on that CD there is a chart with all the accupuncture points for fertility.  If I was you, I would try somewhere else, because after all it all costs money.  Good luck with it all. x

thanks alot for ur reply and it sures does help.that is my problem.she does not feel my pulse at all,and have like 4 needles put to my ear;thats all.yeah i wanted to atleast know how other people do it.are all ur needles in ur ear too?

I have been doing acupuncture for years!!!  I started doing it more frequently when we started IVF and I am currently pg and still doing it.  From my experience that seems odd to me, unless maybe she is new at it or has never treated a fertility patient before.  My acupuncturist feels my pulses and talks to me while she puts my needles in roughly between 5-10.  Hope this helps
