Can cysts delay AF? I had a lot of cysts this cycle, and my RE put me on a "hold" cycle. We bd'd around ovulation anyway. DH thinks he remembers the office saying that cysts can delay the start of my next cycle. Does anyone know?
thanks
ok, so I googled it and it seems cysts can delay AF. So, my next question is, for how long? I am not a poas addict-in the past 11 months of ttc, I have taken an hpt exactly 2 times, and only because I was sure I was pregnant. I was not, and it was devestating-much more so than just having AF show up. So I don't want to jump the gun and test. Today is CD 29 and I got a positive on opk cd14, so today I am anywhere from 13-15 dpo. My "normal" cycle has never been longer than 29 days, but with they cysts it may be longer. Just how much longer? Waiting is bad enough, but when something causes a delay, it gets worse. thanks
They sure can delay it. They can play with your hormones and delay ovulation. I've had them. However, I'm quite sure they don't delay the second half of your cycle. So, if you know you already ovulated, it still should be around 14 days till you get your af. It sounds like you could be pregnant. I would test, you wouldn't be jumping the gun. There's no other way to know!! Good luck!
I would think that cysts could affect your ovulation, but if you did ovulate, AF would still come 12-14 after ovulation. Did you temp? OPK could have been a false positive, maybe? Even if you haven't been temping.. take your temp first thing in the morning and see what it is.. or just skip that and POAS!!
Whatever you decide, I wish you the very best!! Hannah
I get cysts a lot on clomid, and I have never had them delay my AF. That's not to say that they can't - it just never happened to me. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Good luck.
to poas, do you believe it? and af showed. Only 1-2 days late, so not so bad. And, my day 3 ultrasound showed the cysts had resolved themselves, so I was able to start on injectibles. I think I got lucky, sounds like the cysts could have caused some problems. thanks all.
