My husband had a semen analysis done and the nurse from our RE's office called to say that everything was normal. I then went to another RE for a second opinion on my fertility problems and when he reviewed the semen analysis, he felt that the morphology or "normal" sperm was very low and a concern. It was done on a Kruger standard (a stricter review) and was 4%. An excellent sample should have 14% normal. Does anyone have any insight into this lab result??? We are very worried! All of the other things they test for (motility, amt of sperm) was excellent.
Morphology can prevent the sperm from making its way into the egg outer layer to fertilize it. My ex had same problem (although he denied any problems on his part and blamed it all on me- hence the word EX) but there are things they can do with in vitro to use a needle to actually put the sperm into the egg itself, so don't give up!!
Don't worry, there are things can be done. My husband had the same problem with only 5% normal sperm and I had ovulation problems too. My gynae prescribed us medicine to improve our condition and put us to IUI 3 months later. And now I am 13 weeks pregnant. Get a reliable OB, tell him your problems and may be he has better suggestion to help both to conceive as soon as possible. Good luck!
