does anyone knows about the shots that i can take to get you ovulate? how effective they are?because they are very expenssive and my insurance doesn't cover anything. do you know how many days i can take them and get pregnant.
Do you mean the HCG shot? If so, you take 1 shot a cycle and I don't remember how much mine costs. The hcg causes your egg to release and you ovulate sometime in the next 24-48 hours. From day of ovulation you have 14 days until your period starts, or doesn't start if you're pregnant. I have not heard of anyone taking JUST the hcg shot, everyone I know takes it in combination of other infertility
would you explain to me more about your case. i didn't get my period since i gave birth to my first child, about 20 months. so i am not ovulating. my estrogen
i have pcos and i dont ovulate either without fet meds. My dr gave me a pill to give me a perod then on day 3-7 i toook femera and on day 12 he gave me shoot to ovulate. From what i undertand it all depends some people take 3 shoots and other just 1 of noveral. Do you live near Houston. My Dr. is one of the best in this types of problems.
Well.. if you don't ovulate on your own (which usually goes along with not getting your period regularly), your doctor was probably talking about an FSH injectable med which is usually combined with the HCG trigger shot. I personally used one called Follistim. I don't ovulate either (periods are never regular) and the purpose of the injections are to get your body to produce and develop follicles
(s) to be released (within 36 hours you will want to have intercourse or IUI/IVF in order to get pregnant). That's the general idea at least. Hope that helps some.
thanks for the information.i don't know why my dr said that i need to go to his office everyday and he gonna put me in monotor.he told me that each shot has 25%of success. any idea?
Hmm.. it's different for every person, but since I was on a very low dosage I had to go in more frequently (but even then, it wasn't every day... I went 5 days, then maybe 3, then 3 more, etc). They need to monitor you so they can tell when your follicles have reached an acceptable size to trigger (initiate ovulation). For me personally it took around 14 days until I was ready to trigger ovulation (some women only need to use the meds for a couple days). However, both times I used injectable meds, I ovulated (I don't ever ovulate on my own so this was a very big thing for me). I'm not sure what the success rate is... I tried Clomid first and it didn't work at all. But then as soon as I tried the injectables, I had success.
