so confusing!

Ok so I just started using opk's about a week ago and so far the results have been somewhat consistent....always a light test line. Then yesterday at around 3:30 pm I tested and it was as dark as it has ever been ....I was so excited i tested again in a few hrs just to make sure and it was very light....So this morning being a girl i couldnt wait ....and at 7:00 am i tested even darker than the first test...a sure positive...then again at 9:00 am with another sure positive....but at 2pm another light line.....why are the results so inconsistent ? Should I just take the 3 positives and forget about the neg results? were they just a result of diluted urine ????My husband is getting deployed in 7 days ..this is my last chance for six months... Please help!

I agree... later in the day.  I kept getting somewhat dark lines and then got obsessed with diagnosing the colors. haha  When I finally got a Positive... it was such a DARK RED line and thick  - and it showed up a day before my period. My period is a mess this month because of Clomid. I have 5 days until I can test again.....

The best time to test is 2 p.m., or as close as possible. Anytime between noon and 8 p.m. is fine, first morning urine is not recommended. The reason for this is that most women experience a surge in the morning, but it can take 4 hours for it to show up in your urine.  Make sure to test at about the same time every day and try not to drink much in the few hours before testing because that can definitely alter the results.

You should try to test the same time every day.  The amount of liquid you drink can easily change the test result.  If you got a positive, then it was positive =)  I hate OPKs they are so hard to read!  Good Luck!
