My husaband and I were trying to conceive for a year before he deployed. A couple of months ago I went to the doctor, just to make sure things were OK. He said I wasn't ovulating, so he put me on 50mg clomid. It didn't work, my husband will be back on R&R for 2 weeks in Sep. so my doc put me on birth control, to postpone Ovulation and then have me take 150mg timing it to hopefully be ready for hubby. Does clomid need to be cycled a certain way to be affective or do I significantly increase my chance of pregnancy by jumping up higher? I know I take the chance of twins, better 2 than none, i'm just not sure the higher dose will help since I've only gone through one cycle of clomid.
A lot of drs will start at 100mg. If 50 didn't work, it's not that huge of a jump from 100 to 150. Usually, they go up 50mg at a time. If 50 didn't work, it's possible 100 might not either. Since you have a small window of opportunity, 150 would give you a better shot.
