sucess with 1st IUI????

I am getting ready to do my 1st IUI within the next month and I was just wondering what my sucess rate would be to get pregant on my first try? I am gunna be taking gonal F and my hubby also has a low sperm count and I am just wondering if we really have a chance because we are using all the money we have saved for this procedure and if it does not work the first time we wil have to wait a whole year to save up the money again as it cost $3,000 total for one IUI cycle in AZ . So if any of you ladies can give me some good sucess stories with a !st try IUI I would really love it I need all the words of hope I can get

Given that you posted that on 11/9, I hope that you have made it through your 1st IUI with success?  I had mine last week and am still waiting the results.  I hope that I can say that I had success, but not sure yet.

hey thanks for responding i actually am going through the IUI process right now I am on cycle day 9 and really excited and nervous at the same time. But i am staying positive that it is gunna work and I am gunna be a mommy soon. How was your IUI did you get a BFP yet ????

Yea we can be cycle buddies I have to go to the doctor tomorrow to get my eggs checked again to see if they are mature . I just pray that this works. I hope we can both say we are geting the best christmas present ever!!!! thanks for responding to my post too. when do you go to the doctor again ? and if you dont mind my asking what are your fertility issues ?

Hey--I just went today to get my follicles checked--I am currently on CD12.  Took the Ovidrel trigger shot tonight, and I am having my first IUI on Saturday.   I hope the first time IUI works for everyone!

YEAH !!!!! for you  I hope it works for you too lots of baby dust to you and hopefully that will give me even more hope I went to the RE this morning and  i am still not responding yet to the injections so I have to keep doing them  I really hope it works Although the doctor said that my linning was really good so i hope by the end of next week that i can do the actual IUI procedure .

I got pregnant with my first IUI in October...DH has low morphology. We were supposed to use clomid and the shot, but I was afraid so it was done all natural. She told us we had a 5-10% chance, but it worked for us. Good luck to you!!!!

We had our first child as a "whoops" five years ago and haven't been successful in having any more since.  All of our tests came back showing us both as normal.  So we decided to do IUI.  I took clomid 50 on days 3-7 and went in on day 13 and all was good with two healthy sized eggs.  I was given an hCG shot and went in on saturday (dec 6) for my very first IUI.  I have a LOT of friends who have been through this as well, most it was successful the first try, but one it was never successful (but has since found out she is pregnant from IVF - due July '10)  So, we're very excited, but it's hard to be patient and not be anxious and surf the net looking for any clue that it might have worked! lol

Good to hear the success stories... I'm just starting my second IUI, back to back after a first BFN last week. Will start taking HMG shots from today, expected IUI date to be around 22 Dec.
Would be great to share progress with some cycle buddies, get support during the horrible 2ww, and hope we can get BFPs together!

I am in the midst of my 2nd IUI wait..Yes you can get pregnant the first time as 2 years ago we had our son from a follistim.timed intercourse cycle! This time not so lucky in sept but  had our IUI on 12/4 and praying! I am 36 and we are unexlained...Good Luck to all of us! The wait is the worse......................

Oh the loverly 2ww!! I went in on the 6th and am waiting! We are completely unexplained either as we have an one successful *unplanned* pregnancy.  This was our first treatment.  I can test HPT as early as the 16th, but I go back to the doc's on the 18th for the bloodwork confirmation.

Hey, so my bloodwork came back today as negative, but at least I was ready for it from that neg HPT.  I guess I'll be getting a red wrapped gift for Christmas.  Do you think I can return to sender???  See you when the next tww starts in the new year.Merry Christmas Everyone!

BFN for me as well...thought the IUI was going to be the answer.  My husband's counts were fine, my follicles/lining were fine.  So, to do more treatments--or not?  That is the question.

That's what I was thinking too, that everything looked so picture perfect.  But, again, it's that chance of the two steps happening. Fertilization and Implantation.  So, next month we try again and hope we make it past both steps.
