tanning in early preg?

Hey there ladies i am not preg yet but i tan and it just accured to me that it might be bad. is it has anyone tanned while preg and if so did everything turn out ok?

I read up on this too.  They say the only thing harmful is the usual...harmful to you.  The sun rays have so many layers to go through that it's impossible for them to harm a fetus...the sun doesn't reach that far.

well if it cant penetrate a few layers then i have enough layers to protect a few women. LOL

LOL!!  The only thing they warn you about is if you use a tanning bed to be careful because of possible infection and because of some of the cleaning chemicals they use.  But the tanning itself won't harm the baby.

I just wanted to give a bit of a side note answer to your question. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law have been going through fertility stuff for quite a while now, and one of the first things their fertility specialist told them was that tanning can actually shrink ovaries and therefore decrease your likelihood of conception. When they had problems conceiving, he asked her from the start if she had ever tanned in a tanning bed (which she had), and he attributed part of their problems to that. I tanned for quite a while too and had no problems conceiving, but I just wanted to pass it along as side note information ... if you are ttc, you may want to consider no more tanning for the time being. you have to be very careful that you dont raise your temp. i have a freind that did anyway and no problems, but i dont want to be the one that ends up with that one problem. you know? some beds have made me hotter than others. id really ask your dr what their opinion is.

This may sound stupid, but what about using a laptop, like I am right now.  I am laying back and it is kinda resting on my pelvis and my legs.  I have wireless too. I don't have extra layers of protection either!
