I'm new to this but my husband and I have been ttc for 7 months. We're both healthy. My cycle is between 27-28 days long. I'm using ovulation tests and know when I'm surging. I took an ovulation test yesterday at 4pm and got a line that was a tiny bit lighter than the reference line. We bd-ed at 1am this morning. I took another ovulation test at 10am this morning and didn't have a surge. Any ideas??

No i dont think it matters but to get a positive i think the test line has to be as strong or stronger than the control line.
All id advise it just to keep testing as you may ovulate a little later that way youll know.

ta for reply hun.well i'm expected to ovulate in 2 days so i've bin bd since 2days ago and will carry on for the nxt few days.still neg opks but if ure lh surge happens 24-48 hrs before ovulation should have a pos 2day or 2morrow.bin testing twice a day like you said.i'm using one step test strips there were lots of good reviews about them the only thing is the test line is faint does this matter?

Hi hun,
soo sorry not been on for a few days. Typically a LH surge happens between 24-48hrs before ovulation. What iv been doing is BD from CD10-CD22 so i have a good "build up" so to speak...
What you do before ovulation is the most important once ovulation has happened its too late if that makes sense??
Sperm can live for upto 5 days so the more the build up before ovulation the better.
I would continue to BD until Mon if poss just incase it happens a little later.
I hope this helps hun and feel free to send me a msg and ill help anyway i can..

So I had eggwhite mucus around 10am yesterday, (neg. opk at 5am) then we BD around 1pm, took a second opk around 7pm and it was positive. So we bd yesterday at 1, will again tonight around 9pm, and again thursday around 9pm.  will that cover it or should we do it again friday for good measure?

thanks for the help! I don't want to miss the timeline!

Hi,

I would test 2 times a day 12 hrs apart... OPKS look for your LH surge that happens 24-48hrs before ovulation and a egg is alive for 12-24 hrs so i would say only twice a day is necessary i would say 10am-10pm and so on that way your should get a accurate reading..

I hope this helps and SSBD
