took an OPK to see if I still have HCG in my system....

Hi girls well on Wednesday my RE called me to say that the pathologist said that he wants to send my tissue to Harvard for further testing to make sure I don't have gestational tropoblastic disease.  My RE said that the pathologist has a gut feeling he should send it there.  So....I went online to look it up and I have none of the symptoms at all...My levels went from 2,345 on Feb. 27th to 324 on Monday.  So they are coming down.  Tonight I took an OPK to see if I would get a positive b/c of HCG in my system and I got a negative.  Does anybody know what HCG level OPK's read.  I know that they can be used as a HPT.
Any help would be appreciated!

how long did you bleed after the d and c? Mine is natural so i have no idea how long it will last. It is driving me nuts.

You are so funny with the xanax...LOL.  My MIL went to my general practioner and told him how upset I was and he said that if I need anything to call him.  I am seriously thinking about it.  I just feel like I'm beaten down all the time...between this and my job I'm a little bit of a mess.  I started taking my temps today I wasn't sure when to start but I decided to start today.  My temp was actually with in the normal range...we'll see how it is tomorrow.  I'm having Cm though..which I think is weird b/c I had absolutely none with my last m/c.  I go back on Mon for another HCG test.

Hey guys - I got the Xanax (which is fantasic by the way - first time using ti - I was soooo calm all day, a little stoned but it helped my mood swings and nerves - I should have been on this for my entire life :) and pain meds and sleeping pills. I figure if I just stay numb for a while it may help.

I keep thinking the bleeding will stop - it slows down almost to a complete stop and then BAM - full on again with more clots. It is getting more and more depressing. Sorry if this is TMI. I think I am ok  but the bleeding a tissue is a constant reminder of my munchkin. I hate it.

I go back on the 17th for blood work to see if my levels are down, hopefully to 0. I have been using FF but just for charting the bleeding. No temps yet, have no idea when to start.

I keep reading that after you completely stop bleeding, you will probably O about 2 weeks later and expect your period about 2 -3 weeks after that (give or take). So when I get my first real period I will start using my fertility monitor - which is AWESOME by the way - and get back to BDing.

It is so awesome to have you girls to talk to. Hugs to all and SSBd to us! BFP's in 2008 for us all!!!

Hi girls I'm glad to hear from you guys...I've been wanting to have some girls to talk to about this.  I've been talking to Jenny5 too.  

I stopped temping.  I guess I should start again.  I just wasn't sure what ff would say.  Is it going to still think I'm pregnant.  I had a D and C.  If charting hte day of it was day 1 then I'm a week late.  

Science teacher-  I read what was in your journal.  I know what you mean about going back to work.  My little ones made me smile but I still feel useless.  I just can't get it together.  Fortunately I teach in an inclusion class and there is another teacher in the room.  Xanax- would be a good idea.  My RE never offered...I do think I need something though.  Dh wants me to see a psychiatrist...I really don't think there is anything they would do for me.  I'm functioning though a little zombie like...LOL  You know what it is I just have had some problems at work.  My principal is anything but understanding and she really got upset with me and now my union is involved.  Then my RE called me with this gestational tropoblastic disease thing...it just seems to go on and on.  

The kids do take your mind off of things for a little bit though.

Waitn-  I only bled for like a day after my D and C.  I'm having some CM now...which is weird b/c I didn't have any after my last m/c.  My RE says I can't try for 2 periods.  He told me one last time...I'm trying to be patient but it's not going well...It was funny today I was thinking that I wanted to BD and then I thought I can't do that it's only a week today.  I was totally not thinking.  I really want to try again after my first period come back.  How long are you waiting?

Miky-  Let us know how you do I go back Mon.  I have to set up a consultation to know the plan.  No word yet from my RE on hte pathology report...I think I will call on Sun if I don't hear anything.

i read online that if you had a D&C the day of the procedure is counted as CD1...i dont remember what it said if you were having a natural mc

i have been spotting all day and im hopnig by sunday the bleeding is over so i can start watching for ovulation...

ive decided to catch ovulation one cycle and then full steam ahead next cycle...hopefully april/may i will get my BFP again

also ive decided to seek the help of a high risk OB doctor instead of a regular OB...since i was high risk with my son and had a previous mc before this one i will feel better with a specialist this time around

It was alot at first, but then kept on going and going, probably at least two weeks.  and the first few days are the worst pain wise.

okey dokey - that sounds good. I will get that cheap $ store ones until I get a negative on them - then I will get the expensive ones. I got a + on a FRER at 3.99 HCG so I know those darn things are sensitive. :)

alikat: How long did you bleed for with natural miscarriages? I keep thinking it is trailing off and it gets heavier and then light and then heavy, UGH!! Driving me nutso...

PS: My OB is great - he just called me in some Xanex (I need it - I am at work and feel like I am going to just lose it in front of my kids any second), tylenol 3, and sleeping pills. I will be feeling better tonight!

SCIENCE TEACHER  i had two natural m/c.  i would get some hpt's and start testing, when it is negative, start cycle day 1.

I am having a natural miscarriage. I had started bleeding by the time we figured it out and most of the tissue had passed already (or was in the process of passing). Do you have any idea when I should consider anything CD1? I have read that you will get your period about 21 days after you stop bleeding from natural or D and C. But who knows....

did you have a D&C done or a natural?

we should all stick together as we wait for our bodies to get normal again and then start the TTC journey again....i have a list of questions for my doc next thurs and if i find anything out i will share

I am right there with ya'll. My levels were 86.5 Wednesday and getting blood done on the 17th to see how far it has gone down. I can not wait until I can officially start TTC again. I think we have decided to go with natural trying (fertility monitor, cervical mucus etc) for the first month or two before we jump back into the meds.

Waitn838- have you been charting? How are they looking? I want to start again but am worried becasue they will be so erratic at first. I am still bleeding and passing tissue. Should I wait until that stops? I have no idea when to start charting again.....

im not sure about this either....i was planning on taking a preg test next tues to see if it comes back + or -      ....hopefully it comes back negative so i can start monitoring for ovulation

I'm not sure but I think  www.peeonastick.com lists what level they detect.

I'm really sorry for what you've had to go through.  Maybe the dr. will be able to give you some insight as to what went wrong when he gets the results from Harvard.
