two possible chem. pregnancies in a row sign of infertility?

Hi everyone

Does anyone know if two chemical prgegnancies back to back is a sign of infertility? both were before the 5th week mark, and also(i know this probably matters) i am an 8 year smoker desperatley trying to quit.

July produced two faint positives then two negatives on a test
august produced three positives 5 days after missed period with equal faint lines, than a barely positive then a negative

Is it reccomended that a woman wait after such early mishaps to try again? i desperatley want a child

and now i thought i started a period but its so light its basically spotting--- with no cramps and the blood went from pink to a mauve--- and the last one i took(the negative) has a faint pink line on it but i just figure its basically a negative because its lighter than the line i got 2 days ago

I'm not sure that chemical pg and miscarriage can be lumped together since a chem is just an embryo that didn't properly form.   In fact they say that maybe as many as 50% or some high percentage of pgs end in chem/miscarriage.  So I don't think it means your infertile.  I was surprised to learn that even if the sperm and egg hook up there's only a 20% chance they'll successfully form into a embryo and result in pg.  It's disappointing, but I wouldn't throw in the towel.  Good luck with the trying to quit smoking, I'm sure that'll help improve your overall health and chances to conceive.

I had two in a row this past year...one at 6 then other at 5.  I'm now 18 weeks along.  I started taking baby aspirin day 1 of my cycle and am still on it.  Maybe ask your doctor about getting on this...it prevents certain types of miscarriages.  And, as you know, stop smoking now!
Personally I think that you should quit smoking THEN start trying to concieve again.  YOU are your number one priority.
