update after MRI

I had my MRI yesterday and my 2 week follow up appt after d&c today.  She said I'm healing fine.  She was able to read my MRI results and said it wasn't great news.  Apprently she said the MRI didn't show whether I have the septate or bicornuate uterus.  That was the reason for doing it was to tell which one I had.  I'm so frusterated!!!!!!!!  She knows there is a problem because they could see something was not right on the u/s but couldn't determine exactly which and during the d&c  she had resistance at the top of my uterus so she said she knows there is something there.  She said the next step is to wait the 6 weeks after d&c (which will probably be the week before Thanksgiving) and go in through the belly button with the camera (can't remember is that called laproscopy)?  Anyway then she will be able to tell.  If it's the septate she can fix it while I'm under but if it's the bicornuate she has to send me out to a specialist, which means I'll have to wait 6 weeks after that surgery then wait 2 cycles before we can try again.  I know there is nothing I can do to speed things up but I'm just frusterated that I still don't know what is wrong!  I'll do whatever they say is the right thing to do (in terms of waiting to have surgery/trying again) because I don't want to jump ahead and have another m/c because we didn't wait for things to heal in between but I just wish things would work out.  On the up side.....after the surgery mid Nov I'll have all of the holidays to keep me busy and hopefully the time will pass that much quicker!!!  Thanks  ladies for listening!  BTW, has anyone had a similar situation/problem and what was your outcome, did things go well?  :)

thanks ladies.  I feel so frusterated because of all the things I've read about the MRI being the "gold standard" of diagnosing uterine abnormalities that I thought we could've figured this out now.  I feel like "wow if that was the gold standard and it didn't tell me anything what does that mean"????  I know we'll get it figured out it's just the ride that your on while you wait is hard.  I think I may have used the wrong term when I said laproscopy earlier in my post she may have said hysteroscopy?  There were so many terms thrown around I can't remember them all.  Basically they use a camera through your bellybutton to see the shape of the top of the uterus.  Don't think their doing an HSG.  Although, I'm still learning about all of these terms!!  Keep you posted.

I'm sorry to hear your news.  I know how the waiting game feels...Did she do an HSG on you?

NW - your wonderful attitude gives me chills, girl!  I haven't got that particular problem but wanted to wish you good luck w/all of your next endevors (sp?).  Believe me, I know how frustrating it is to go through all of these tests & being told that they are inconclusive, blah, blah. I'm so glad that you posted after your mri - I've been looking to see what the results are.  I pray that hopefully the problem can be fixed w/the laparoscopy & you can get on to ttc.  You take good care!

You have amazing spirit!!  Good luck with laparoscopy.  I hope they find what's wrong if anything.  Also, I heard that you become more fertile for a while after that.  I myself have laparoscopy scheduled for next month.  I hope Thanksgiving brings a BFP for you!
