what 5 cd's do you all take your clomid?

Is there any difference in taking clomid on cd 2-6, than cd 3-7 or cd 5-10?

i saw on another forum that someone saw a study where women got preggo 24% more when they started on CD1 or 2!?!?!?

i am just wondering if you have heard anything like that? this is my 7th round of it, and just in the last two rounds have i acutally O'd.......yuckers, but im hopeful!

I took mine days 5-9.  It worked fine to make me ovulate, but I didn't get pregnant.  This cycle we used Femara, also days 5-9, and did IUI.  I just found out I'm pregnant.  I had always wondered if days 5-9 were too late, but I guess not.  :)  Good luck to you!

OMG!!!!!!!!! My friend used Femara and on her first round of it she got preggo too. I asked my doc about that stuff and he didnt even KNOW WHAT IT WAS. Im doomed, reckon they sell it on ebay!?!?! LOL

I didnt wanna jam up the forum with another post, so i will put it here.

1:) Has anyone ever heard anything about getting preggo easier the earlier you take clomid in your cycle?

2:) Has anyone taken clomid, it not worked, then gone to femara and it DID?

3:) What is the difference between Femara and Clomid. I heard the first is a cancer drug but why is it used in a fertility setting? Is it for women with pre-diabetes or what?

thank you all so much for answering anything you can. i am on round 7 of clomid and i am just over it. i have seen the stats on the whole success after 3 cycles and i am way past that. any info would be great!

I did Clomid cycle days 5-9.  My Dr. does not like to go beyond four months with Clomid...if it does not work in the first 3 cycles then it most likely will not work, according to him.  I am moving on to injectables and IUI this month.  My dh had to take the injections class yesterday to know just how to properly stab me!!

Im doing my first round of Clomid 50 mg+ Estradiol, its my cd 12 and i will check for ovulation tomorrow. I was wondering what IUI have you done to get pregnant? And also what does Femara do? Did ou get pregnant on your second round of Clomid + IUI?

I took my clomid 50 mg from day 3 - 7.  i think it's depends on your cycles.  28CD, 30CD or 34 CD.  i think that the reason dr put you on clomid

I took clomid cd5-9.  From what I have read on the subject, the earlier you take it, the more follicles you are likely to develop.  

Early in your cycle you won't have a dominant follicle so mulitple follicles will mature.  If you take it later in your cycle, you will have one or maybe two dominant follicles so they will mature and the other smaller ones won't. So the earlier you take it, the higher the risk of multiple births.

I agree, thank you tankerchic.  This will be my first cycle of clomid and I was wondering the same thing.  After losing 2 your info was great I hope that this will work for me.

You're both welcome but just remember, with multiple births other risk factors go up.

I did clomid 2-6. She said she gave it to me so early because a) studies have shown a higher rate of pg (not sure fo the exact stats, but I think is is higher, and b) it has less of an effect on cm (doesnt dry it up as much as taking it a few days later in your cycle). I was on it for a while, but it wasnt until after I stopped that we did a more specialied SA and found out that it wasnt me it was DH, so we are now moving on to ICSI. However I ovulated every month on cd 19 or 20 on 50mg. Good luck.
