I started my third in vitro, I'm 38 1/2 , what else I can do so this time it will work. For my whole life I never got pregnent. What chances do I have.

i'll will like to try the acupucture if my 4th ivf doesn't put a smile on my face..but i'm skeptical. i'm 42, not much time left... i was preg. with my 3rd ivf but i lost it at 4 weeks. i can't tell you how upset i was....but i don't want to give up, i still have hope.

i'm wondering if your doctor did any changes with your med or changed the dosage after the 2 ivf's? mine did on the 3rd ivf and i got pregnant but i'm sad to say i lost the baby at 4 weeks. i'm on my 4th ivf. my transfer was on 9/20 with 6 embys. i did a hpt today came negative, but i'm hoping it's too early that's why....time is not on my side..i just turned 42. i'm not going to give up...not yet. i pray for you and all the girls out there for a baby.

Some RE's are BIG acupuncture fans, & others are not so much.  You can call their office & ask if they recommend anyone.  If not, then you can google one in your area, just make sure they are familiar w/womens issues, mainly fertility.
It is very relaxing, & it has been proven to improve a womens chances of conception naturally, or for those going thru fertility meds.  It REALLY helps w/IVF  you have sessions thru out your cycle, but its really important to have a session just before a transfer & right after.
It can't hurt, so it's worth a try.  Most insurances do not cover it, but some do.  Costs in my area (socal) range from $40.00-$100.00 per session, which is about 40-60 minutes long.

Hi Dorti, I had 1 failed IVF, after which I added accupuncture, Prenatals with DHA.  In addition to that made DH take Barzil nuts (contain selenium), and Fertilaid for men.  I ate 1/2 pineapple core starting day of transfer for 4 days.  I am now 10 weeks pregnant on my second IVF.  I do think all the changes I made were important especially accupuncture, I did accupuncture starting mid May, my first IVF was in June, which failed and the next one was in July which workd.  Good luck, if you have any other questions email me and I will be happy to answer
