what if i ovulate before my iui?

hello. maybe some of you can help me. i am 37 y/o ttc after 1 year. i had a misscarriage in july at 6 weeks. i do ovulate. all labs and tests are normal. he is putting me on clomid to plan my day of ovulation. in two days i will be starting my first round of clomid 50 mg; with an injection of hcg on day 14 and an iui scheduled on nov 16th, which is also my 16th day in my cycle. i usually have a pos ovulation test on day 12 or 13. if i wait to do the iui on the 16, wouldn't i have already ovulated on my own? furthermore, if my husband and i should abstain from sex three days prior to the iui, then we may miss the whole ovulation process altogether. i'm worried that the dr is waiting too long.

I am sure you will be well monitored, if your getting a trigger. usually they monitor you and when your follies are mature they will trigger and within' 26 -36 hrs give or take your IUI will be done. If youhave any concerns and feel IFFY please let your DR know .. you will feel more at ease.. i am sure he/she will have the answers dont be scared "thats what they are there for" sending you so many bug hugs and hope you GET YOUR BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *:O)erika

hi ladybug. i had tried calling the doctor (who is over two hours from my home) yesterday. but didnt get past the receptionist. i don't have another visit scheduled until day 14 when i get the shot of hcg. i'm just really confused about this whole process. but thank you so much for responding and for the well wishes. i'm gonna call the dr. again today.

How is your DH sperm count?  If it's good then you can bed 2 days before the IUI day, and next day after IUI, then you got cover.
abstain from sex three days prior to the iui to get the highest sperm volum/count. Best wish

you will be monitored along the way and with also clomid your follies will get bigger than usual/take longer before they release. good luck.
