when to stop taking dhea ? Before IVF ?

Hello there,
New to this site. Started stimming for 3rd ivf attempt 5 days ago. Two months ago i started taking 50mg per day of dhea. This time on day 3 my blood test result showed high progesterone levels. They told me to stop taking the menopur and just continue with the decapatyl until the next blood test in 4 days time. I think that the dhea has caused my progesterone levels to rocket. My question is should i stop taking it ? i asked the doctor and he said continue taking it. But, not too sure if he knows what he's talking about as i live in France and they don't use dhea in the clinics here normally. I asked for the prescription myself after reading the research online. The clinic is not monitoring me on the dhea. I feel very vunerable and don't know what i should do. Please any help would be gratefully received. Thanks !

I never had my menopur stims stopped on the last two ivf attempts. The only thing that i've done differently this time is to take 50mg dhea daily for the past two months.
Ive read on some of the other forums that it can afftect the balance of your hormones, particularly the progesterone. I have a blood test tomorrow to confirm if i can continue with this cycle or not. If it's cancelled it has to be related to the dhea.
What quantity are you taking and what was your level of dhea before you started taking it? Mine was 20,2 nmol/l and 5,9ug/L on day 3 of cycle.  I've read 4,1 - 28,0 nmol/l and 1,9-8,1 ug/l are the normal level during a cycle. I haven't had my dhea levels test since then as it was the 3 day of my cycle during the xmas holidays and labs were closed. Day 3 is the best day to check your levels.

my dr said you should have no side effects from it. I am taking it now because i read it could help with egg quality. When i asked my dr he said there is no known research that it does anything of the sort. who the heck KNOWS!!! I'm so confused about it.

My dr said stop the day before retrieval.  None of my drs have monitored me on DHEA. They prescribed it because I asked for it after doing some research. I don't know if it would make your progesterone levels go up--it has more to do with testosterone, I think...
Good luck!
