I also took Clomid for 3 rounds (50 mg) and they were all different. The first time, no side effects at all. Second time, I spotted for 6 days before my period. Third time, majorly ouchy ovulation pains that sent me home from work wondering if I had OSS (I didn't).

What a weird drug!

I was a bit freaked by that last cycle. Have a new doc now and he wants me on 100mg next month, then the clomid and injectibles in Nov. Hope my ovaries don't explode like popcorn kernals!

I am just taking the clomid and using OPKs but we aren't doing IUI. I have had so many side effects and they seem to keep progressing. I took my last pill Sept. 2 but it seems every week I develop something different. For me it started with hot flashes, then came the cramps, and then the nausea. Then this week I started having the breast tenderness and dry heaving...we took HPT with BFN so I assume these problems are associated with the clomid. How long did your side effects last with the clomid? Is it normal to experience the side effects through the whole cycle? Just curious how it has affected other people. Thanks.

I took clomid for 5 cycles and every one was different.  I think I had every side effect under the sun.  If you are doing IUI they should be monitoring your follicles to make sure it is working.  Are you getting regular ultrasounds?

I took my first round of 50mg Clomid Aug.29-Sept. 2 and had hot flashes while taking the pill. A few days after I took my last pill I started cramping and have cramped during most of this cycle in addition to the cramps I have been nauseous most of the time also. Now I am 9 dpo (according to + opk O'ed cd 19) and I continue to cramp, have nausea, breast tenderness, fatigue, and occassional headaches. The symptoms have gotten so bad that we went ahead and took a HPT which was BFN. We are hoping that I am pregnant since we have bene trying for a year now.

I have taken 2 cycles of clomid - the first cycle I had no cramping or anything like that - but it worked fine and I had a mature follicle and ovulated - the second round of clomid I have had a lot of cramps and pressure - so I am thinking it all depends on your body...  I wouldn't be too worried

I have only taken Clomid for one cycle but I have heard women who have taken it multiple times say that some cycles are different than others and that sometimes there are cramps, other times there are not.

Just wondering - is your RE doing a mid cycle ultrasound to see if you have mature follicles ready to go?  I think that is the best way to see if it is working or not.

Everyone's experience with IUI is different but if your last IUI didn't work then maybe it is a good sign that you are not having any cramps! Good luck to you!
