900 iu gonal-f per day

Hi I was just wondering if you think 900iu of Gonal-f per day for a 43 year old with a FSH level of 8 they want me to take it for 10-12 days?

Hi!
What a lovely FSH level you have!  The Gonal-f should work pretty well for you. Usually it is monitored with ultrasounds and estradiol levels.  You will probably have to go through a cycle to find out how well you respond.  Also, give some serious consideration to what type of antenatal testing you want to do--in other words do you want to have CVS/amniocentesis/ultrasound for nuchal translucency, etc.
The problem for "older" women, is not necessarily that they don't produce eggs, but that the eggs they do produce are often abnormal.

I turns out that the nurse was mistaken and tripled the dose, I am so glad that i caught the mistake, I will be taking 450 iu for 7-10 days not 900 iu for 10-12 days
