Antagonist Protocol for IVF

Antagonist Protocol for IVF

Hello, i was wondering, my DOC told me tha he was going to have me do a Antagonist Protocol this time with Invitro, last time i did the Lupron Protocol, we spend so much money in that one, that  i am just a little scare, last time i used 14 VL 450 iu of Gonal f = 5000 $ just on the meds, and we got a BFN this time i only Order 8 VL of Gonal f, I hope is enough since they are not going to supress me, i am not very familiar with the protocol but i am a poor responder,I am 30 Years Old  my FSH leves are 7.5 and my AMH is .7 they told me at the clinic that .7 on the AMH is low, has anybody had any success with and Antagonist Protocol, i read some of the Forums about Antagonist Protocol and still feeling a little confused.

Hi!
Yes, IVF is extremely expensive.  It is a shame too!  Basically what the Antagonist protocol is trying to do is to allow your ovaries to be maximally stimulated to produce follicles without having a premature LH surge that would cause you to ovulate before the follicles are mature. (The LH surge is caused by high hormone levels which are produced by numerous follicles).  It sounds like a very reasonable protocol in your case.
I hope it works for you!
Good luck!
