Have you ever heard of Clear Passage Therapies? I went there in May, they're a clinic in Gainesville, FL that specializes in un-blocking tubes non-surgically. It's alternative medicine, but it worked for me. My left tube was completely blocked, and after a week-long treatment my HSG showed the tube open and functioning. Just another option to surgery....

Hi,
I am really interested. My left tube was removed years ago. My right tube, after the test, the doctor said it has scar tissue at the end, which might impair its ability to pick up eggs. But it is completely open. I did the test twice. I have two failed IVF, should I try to fix the tube. I am 35.
One question is how old are you? If over 38 I might think IVF before surgery. Yes, both tubes can be blocked and at the same time. Possible causes: infections, endometriosis, STD, prior surgeries, ETC. Both tubes can be blocked because, disease aren't able to pick one tube over the other, it goes after both.
If, if, if the blockage can be fixed, I usually counsel my pt's to wait on trying to get pregnant depending on how much surgery it took to fix the tubes. Tubal surgery ( tubalplasty)will place you at a higher risk of ectopic pregnancy. So, let them heal good. You may want to do an HSG, hysterosalpingoram afer the surgery to see if the surgery worked and if they stayed open.
HOPES THIS HELPS
It is definately possible for both tubes to be blocked and if cleared this definately increases your changes of becoming pregnant.
Good luck with your procedure!
