Hi!
I have had several patients conceive more than once per person with only one tube.
As long as that tube is in good shape, it should work fine. Blocking off the other tube is a good way to prevent ectopic pregnancies which can cause life-threatening complications OR scarring of the good tube.
If there has been any damage to the opposite tube, I would not hesitate to send you for IVF. At 32 your chances are decent, but the go down fast after 35. Don't spend a lot of time waiting for the "good" tube to work, if it doesn't do the job quickly, get IVF!
Good luck!
Dr B
Oh and the other tube is partially blocked so I don't know how good my chances are. Looks like IVF it is.
@ Bvfly thank you and I wish you luck as well. I'm about to b married for the first time and would at least like to have one soon. It would break my heart if I couldn't give my hubby the gift of life.
Thank you E.Brown for that info. The doc suggested IVF but I'm not sure just yet. I'll give it another year.
Hi hun i know what your going through but you have a really good chance of conceiving with 1 tube and the fact you are 32.I am 41 with 1 tube and was given a 5% chance of conceiving naturally so ive got no option but to go for IVF which costs £4000 for 1 go.As long as you have 1 tube and ovary you have a really good chance hun.Infact sometimes having only 1 tube makes the other slightly more fertile as it has to work twice as hard.Sadly for me that wasnt the case. But you have a great chance and i wish you all the best for the future xxx
