Can you have too much sex?

Can you have too much sex?

I had my first son the day I turned 35, exactly 2 years later I had a miscarriage.  We waited 3 months before we started trying again.  We've tried for 3 months and I'm not pregnant yet.  Because of my age, I feel like I'm running out of time.  Last month we had intercourse 2 days before the ovulation test indicated the LH surge and 4 days from the time the test showed up positive.  Does having intercourse that many days in a row hurt your chances of getting pregnant?  Does that hurt the sperm quality/count?

Hi!
It DOES often take longer to conceive if you are over 35.  I advise my patients to come and see me if nothing happens within  months.  The optimal frequency of intercourse is every day or every other day during your fertile interval.. MORE than that can be too much.
Daily is just about right though.  A semen analysis is one of the first tests that I check when couples aren't succeeding.
Hope this helps!
