Clomid Treatment

Hi Doc,

My Doc diagnosed that I am not ovulating regularly and suggested me to go on Clomid treatment. However, my insurance does not cover any infertility treatment. I can afford the clomid pills and a couple of sonograms every month but cannot afford the frequent sonograms (not to mention the doc fees) to check the progress of my ovulation. Now I am very worried. What other options do I have? Can I get an online consultation for a few months just for clomid while I gather the resources for a full fledged treatment if need be?

Hi!
You might want to seek a second opinion regarding your Clomid treatments.  Many doctors are comfortable using Clomid without the need for ultrasound, except of course in the event of problems.  You might be able to find a doctor who would prescribe it for several months without requiring ultrasounds or frequent office visits.  Certainly I do that sometimes for my patients, depending upon the circumstances.  Ovulation can be monitored with predictor kits and progesterone levels.
Hope this helps!
