Desperately want to concieve(conceive) AGAIN!!!

I had my first child 13 years ago...about 18 months after his birth i was told a had chlamydia and was treated...i am quite sure i had it when i was pregnant cause he had an infection in his eye caused by chlamydia....i got on the depo shot 1 year later after a year of that I got off the shot....it took about a year to get back to a regular cycle...fast forward ten years ahead I havent been able to concieve (conceive). I wouldnt say I have been trying but I know I should've been pregnant by now. My cycle is normal and I know when i am ovulating. Matter of fact I am ovulating now...lol What are the chances of my tubes being damaged or blocked from chlamydia? Could it be a minor issue that can be fixed? I want to be ready to have another child once i find the man of my dreams! I havent consulted with my doctor yet i thought i would get a general answer first.. anyone please help

You should definitely see your doctor. There is a chance that your tubes have been damaged by chlamydia, but the chance of tubal damage from a single chlamydia infection is only about 15%. Therefore, while your doctor should definitely do an X-Ray test called an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) to check your uterus and tubes, I would recommend also getting tested for male factor with a sperm count, and for hormonal factors with blood tests. There is a 'standard' set of infertility tests that I would recommend getting done, since you have had so many years of unprotected intercourse but have not yet conceived. Good luck.
