Tubal ligation - series damage from a single chlamydia infection is only about 15%. Therefore, while your doctor should definitely do an X-Ray test called an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) to check your uterus and tubes, I would recommend also getting tested for male factor with a sperm count, and for hormonal factors with blood tests. There is a 'standard' set of infertility tests that I would recommend getting done, since you have had so many years of unprotected intercourse but have not yet conceived. Good luck.
