Femara, Endometriosis, and fertility

Hi there - A week ago had my final Luporn injection for Endo treatment.  My doctor thinks that within about 6-8 weeks, I should ovulate again and be able to TTC.  He has given me a prescription for Femara.  Do you think this actually better than Clomid as he thinks?
Also, I have read that Clomid can lead to endo coming back quicker.  Is this true and is it also true of Femara?  I am very worried that then endo will come back, and I would really like the Femara to work well!!
Thank You!

I am not sure femara is better than clomid, but in theory there are a couple of good reasons for femara in your case. First, there are case reports of endometriosis being treated successfully by aromatase inhibitors, which is the class of drug femara is from. Second, femara results in a thicker, better looking endometrium, than clomid. On the other hand, femara is more likely to result in one egg being released, rather than multiple. I don't know of any info regarding clomid making endometriosis coming back more quickly. Why have you been prescribed femara? Are your periods irregular without a medicine that helps you to ovulate? Does your MD think it may help keep the endometriosis at bay?

Thanks for the response.  My Dr has prescribed Femara to basically halp with the IUI process.  I always ovulate, but I think he would just like to do Femara to ensure that.  One of my ovaries (left) is not very good any more after the endo, so I think that may be another reason.
