Hi!
Your FSH level is just one predictor of fertility. Actually, what it predicts is what your response would be to ovarian stimulation with drugs. With a value that high, your chances of conception are indeed low, but not zero. You would not likely have a good response to medications and wouldn't produce many mature follicles in an IVF cycle.
One very good option to consider is donor eggs. If you are otherwise healthy, you could have a baby within ten months if you went with an egg donor. I always say why let a little DNA stand between you and motherhood!
One other thing to consider is to be certain that the FSH was done on the right day of the cycle and is accurate. And, again, it is only one predictor, not an absolute.
Good luck!

there are lots of women out there who got pregnant with higher FSH levels...u just need more work done with an RE-fertility specilist..I suggest you find a good one and work with them...
it's NOT impossible...good luck
Just wanted to let you ladies know that there is another test that is probably more better to see how much ovarian reserved called AMH. Check
It out!
Hi,
i too had the same problem last year and i was diagnosed as primary ovarian failure at the age of 33. My FSH levels was 55 and oestrogen was very low. Only one option we had is go for a donor egg IVF. Once i did IVF in last year and it was failure. Now i am pregnant with 2 nd IVF and my 1st scan is due tommorow.
So , dont worry there r many options in the scientific world now.
I wish u all the best.
I am with ya girl. I am 39 my FSH was 25 but all other tests, blood work and CT scan come back normal? I am so confused why I stopped periods on March or 08 and then only spotted a few times. I want to have a baby and it breaks my heart that my body doesnt want to work. My OB/GYN says he cant explain anything other than possible menapause due to FSH of 25 but no other blood work indicates anything wrong. Prayers for you and hope it can work out for you.. keep the faith and keep looking..
